i LOVED this!!! Victoria Aveyard is so good at writing epic fantasy, with amazing world building, intriquant characters and an amazing storyline!! her writing style is unique yet stunning and easy to follow! this book, despite being the second in the trilogy didn’t fall into the second book syndrome trap. it wasn’t an info dump, it wasn’t boring waiting for things to happed, it genuinely greatly contributed to the overarching story! overall, i genuinely cannot recommend this book enough i truly love it and think its such an amazing epic fantasy book!

I really enjoyed this one much more than the previous book. It's alot of political and court intrigue which I tend to like in fantasy books. I also feel like the characters were more well developed compared to book one.
There does seem to be some "fluff" at times for no reason so this is really more of a 4.5 because eliminating that fluff would have shortened the book and ensured it was easier to get through.

tu mich schwer, das zu bewerten. Hab irgendwie net so ne krasse Connection zu den Charakteren aufbauen können und es war mir pace mäßig einfach zu langsam. Middle book syndrom einfach
Only because the writing is mature writing (violence, murder, attempted murder, treason, world domination, alien things? zombies? annoying men), not in a content way, but in a thinking way. Like this series easily could have been new adult/adult. And not in the way that's like it needed to be, just the complexity of the world-building and character dynamics were so well written that I was very impressed.
Victoria Aveyard did not disappoint. Y'ALL... I still love every aspect of this series. Look, go into knowing it's going to take you a hot minute. But, like...enjoy the minute. Should I be rooting for the villain couple? Probs not. But, am I? Like is it refreshing to see a female villain be an equal to her male counterpart? like yeah, it's kind of cool. And I'm the biggest sucker for a marriage of convenience trope.
As for everyone else, they are still the same loveable clan as before. Just a little messier. The character dynamics and found family that Victoria Aveyard writes about are some of the best out there. If that's your thing then go ahead and pick up the series. You won't be disappointed.

Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard, Narrated by Natalie Naudus; 5 Stars
Victoria Aveyard has long been one of my favourite authors; and not just because of Red Queen. I follow her on all social media platforms and I absolutely love her as a person as well as an author. The main thing that I love about the Realm Breaker series, especially in Blade Breaker, is the immense depth of each character. Every single character in this book is so ridiculously detailed and I quite literally love them all. On the same side of the coin, the depth in the characters then makes amazingly written relationships; both platonic and romantic. Each character has their own unique relationship with each other and it is so refreshing to read. Corayne and Charlie, Sorasa and Valtik, Andry and Dom; all of them feel real.
Andry and Corraine, honestly the cutest, Domacrion and Sorasa; definitely my favourite couple but I can’t decide if I want them to actually get together or to stay friends but keep up the crazy tension. And last but certainly not least, Erida and Teristan… why is their relationship the most organic (kind of) forced proximity love story? I’m obsessed. Erida was one of my favourite characters in Relam Breaker, closely following Sorasa and Dom, but her dynamic with Teristan in this book just put her over the edge for me. She is such an interesting character and though she’s not really a good guy, I have Mavan sympathies. Though Mavan was way worse than her and I know I shouldn’t love him, Queen Aveyard said so herself, but I just can’t help it don’t judge.
Overall this series just has pulled me in in the best way possible. I am rooting for both sides and I have no idea what is going to happen in Fate Breaker, but I cannot wait!
