random thoughts and not a fully articulated review :
failing marriage (one that manages to be rebuilt eventually) has to be my favorite tropes. and an underused one because in my opinion there’s a lot that can be done with it.
i love jenzy, she’s over the top but it’s perfect. it took me a while to warm up to chris though, but i did, through their relationship and his fighting for her i ended up liking him a lot. his behavior at the beginning was just too much, though. if a person is capable of behaving this way towards someone they supposedly love and do so without realizing for two years, i wasn’t sure i wanted to see that person get a happy ending. but as i said i warmed up to him.
it’s a really realistic book in many ways. no rushing, jenzy’s boyfriend isn’t an asshole or anything, she has to make the conscious choice to leave him (their relationship did go a bit fast for me, especially for people who didn’t sleep together. i get that sex isn’t always important but it was blatantly clear the author simply didn’t want her MFC to sleep with someone else... and in that case what made sense would have been for her new relationship to not evolve this fast?)
3.5 stars, it had a lot of good but it’s not a book i will read again (or maybe i will once i forget the plot again) because it had too much of basically a love triangle (even though jenzy was always going to end up with chris) and i was frustrated at several points because the rebuilding wasn’t really starting. i feel like it dragged for a bit and then rushed towards the end.
there were also a lot of typos and grammatical errors. some mistakes on dates that didn’t make sense either.
as a whole a good story i guess, but some choices made by the author were weird to me and it had way more potential

Marriage in trouble.
Angst
Grovel
Dating another while separated (no cheating)
I didnt like the reason why he changed his behavior two years ago and iced her out which lead to the separation.
The second man was just to perfect to be true which annoyed me.
I felt with her and even got emotional but the writing was not mine.
There are a few spicy scenes but not a priority

This book tore me apart and I gladly let it because it mended everything at the end.
It was as funny as it was sad and I can't even describe the emotional rollercoster it put me through.
I couldn't stay on one side. I switched loyalities with each change of POV. My heart broke for Jenzy as much as it broke for Chris and Nicole Strycharz wrote the characters so well and lovable it was impossible to decide with whom you sympathize more.
Both, Jenzy and Chris have great character developments during their story, two characters so unlike each other and yet so undeniably in love. I cared so much for Jenzy and Chris because they felt so real to me.
This book is definitely a keeper!

Chris and Jenzy were college sweethearts but after seven years of marriage, they fell out of love and found themselves at the brink of a divorce. Jenzy filed for the divorce after feeling that Chris wasn't in love with her anymore whilst Chris believed Jenzy was wrong so he tried all he could to win her back. Then there was a third party, Moses, who's so unrealistically perfect for Jenzy. I really like the book and was going to rate it four full stars but I feel like the ending is too rushed and forced, I don't but the quick HEA after Jenzy read the letter. I might have tear up a bit reading the letter but seeing them so suddenly jumping at each other made it so unrealistic.

I’ve been eyeing this book for a number of years but I hate married people angst so I put it off. Alas, I was looking for some stress this week so I thought to myself why not.
This book has:
1. Grovelling: my favourite trope (only by men tho which thankfully this was)
2. Triangle/om: my most hated trope
My thoughts summed up
- It reads like if how I met your mother had a baby with a walk to remember.
- Shit got really weird at the 76% mark and that scene in the club … just gross and no
- Me at every plot point: Ever heard of therapy?
- Chris is pathetic and not in a loveable way
- There was a letter. It was straight out of the movie veer zara

Sucked me in and didn’t let me go until the book was over... I enjoyed it but I didn’t love it because there was some stuff that for me didn’t make sense built this H was fantastic! You absolutely hate him in the beginning but you can’t help falling for him by the end
