I picked this up on a whim and it was so gripping I couldn't put it down. There were some times the writing felt a bit clunky, but the story was so good, and watching the ways the different characters reacted to the tragedy at the center of the book was so compelling, I'd still give it a 5/5. If you liked The Lovely Bones, give this a try.

If we didn’t have family obligations for Easter I would have finished this in two days at the most! This pulled me in and I had to keep reading because you have all types of feelings, and you also have to reflect on what you would do if you were in the situation. I will definitely be reading more by this author!

Haunting

This story will stay with me for a long time. It’s like nothing I’ve ever read before. It had me texting people to say, “Have you read this? It’s tearing me apart and I love it !” The story was about a horrific accident, but the brilliance was in the way the aftermath was portrayed. Without giving away too much, the story being told from an afterlife perspective worked so well. It allowed for every single character’s story to be told fully. Their darkest personal moments were exposed. It had me completely engrossed in their recovery process. There was an element of hope and optimism written into the ending, but the beauty was in the trauma. The author did such an amazing job of describing a harrowing experience in an unflinchingly raw way.
