Honestly, a very good read! This book kept surprising me and I never knew what was going to happen or be revealed next! A very cool take on a cryptid horror! The book leaves a lot unanswered and unclear but in a good way that doesn’t feel unsatisfying.

This was so very hard to put down. At every step Addy takes, new and strange things keep taking hold of her (sometimes literally). As she goes deeper and deeper down the hill and into a cave, you realize the real horror is not what she's currently experiencing but her life flashing before her eyes (and ears) and wondering if it will all be worth it to get out.

I can empathize with Addy so much. I've often felt the same way, experienced the same pain of being talked over and reduced to shadows. So, having Addy just keep going and fighting despite her fear and the nagging feeling that she's not enough, was powerful to me.

I enjoyed this book but nothing really stood out to me. From the recommendation, I expected more. That's not fair to the book, so 3 stars for being an enjoyable read. Surprisingly easy too, considering the genre.

I feel like I got super attached to the main character and this weird supernatural situation she was trying to navigate and it ended suddenly. I was also left with questions out my ass about a lot of the supernatural stuff that was going on. I would definitely read another book in this universe.

An all hope is lost novel with deeper undertones.
