Very Weak Ending

This is kind of a weird series. I did not read the first book; the second one, King of Thorns, was a BookBub offer of a bargain kindle and audiobook set. I thought it was interesting enough that I bought book three. This worked fairly well because things that happened in book one are referred to enough that, while I was left with questions, I was not completely confused. I don't think you could start with book three, though.

Anyway, the main character, Jorg, is willing to do more or less anything to pretty much anyone to get where he wants to be. Surprisingly, he is actually likable, in a humorous, unexpected, deadly kind of way. His father was a real jerk and Jorg is at least an improvement on dad. Jorg's wife Miana, shows up in book 2 and she is a kick. The books are set in a post-apocalyptic world where nuclear war a thousand years ago left society rebuilding from ruins. They have made it to the middle ages technologically, with some magic thrown in. Why not?

I thought the 2/3 of the series I read were worth the time spent.

Christ on a bike. Hated the bloody ending because it was so beautiful. Also not what I expected but kinda realised nothing is normal when Jorg is around. A perfect wrap up to a helluva series. Honourous Jorg Ancrath, I'll miss you.

I don't like this one as much as I did King of Thorns, but it is a solid ending to the trilogy and honestly, I can't think of a more fitting end. I do have some nitpicks and think parts of the story don't flow as well as others in the first half, but once you're halfway in there it really picks up. As some others may have criticized, I do feel it ends rather quickly too. But, still, great stuff!

The fact I read this in 2 days is testament to how good this book is!
