An easy, quick read but I enjoyed how this book truly conveyed the unconditional love of rescue dogs that I can relate to on so many levels.

I know I am a sucker for dog stories, but I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book and the messages in it. Between his Grandfather and George, this author had 2 of the best teachers life had to offer.

If you believe that animals improve your life, then this is the book for you. This book was a story of George the Newfoundland Dog and his owner. His owner was going through some rough times and George helped to make it better. I love the story and the friendship. If you enjoyed Marley and Me, you will probably like this book.

I love dogs, so of course I loved this book. Colin Campnrll talks about how the adoption of a dog, of course a very big dog, helped him through some of his darkest times after his wife left him. I do like that this book is a biography with pictures as well. This was a quick read.

I might be a bit biased because I own a Newfoundland but I loved this book. It was an easy read and very cute.
George is exceptional. I kept thinking of my Newf Daphne in George’s place and how many of their quirks are similar. This book made me so proud to have a Newfoundland and to really appreciate the breed for who they are.
I like how Colin didn’t dwell too much on the struggles of his life, though he went through something terrible the book was, at it’s heart, all about George.
I’d recommend this book to everyone, it was cute, touching, heartwarming, and about dogs so that makes it all the better.

This was an excellent book about the power of pets to provide comfort during difficult times. George (dog) and his human companion both needed each other during a difficult time in each of their lives. The love that developed between the two of them allowed for a mutual trust in each other. Great read for anyone who loves animals.

Cute, light-hearted story of a man and his dog. Enjoyed seeing them both grow through their time getting to know each other.

The best "rescue dog" book I've read, hands down. Other than the surfing bit, George's rescue tale isn't necessarily unique, but Colin tells it with such warmth and humor, and a familiarity to my own dog. I laughed out loud and cried often. Simply wonderful!
