I very much enjoyed this book, though I skipped lightly over the physics. The two main characters were engaging & the plot kept me gripped through the book.
While the book is ostensibly about time travel I think it’s about what you have the power to change in your life. Despite the promise of time travel it seems that the characters cannot change the past. What they come to realise is that we are all travelling through time and they do have the power to change their future - not as easy as it sounds for those whose lives seem predestined by social circumstances, poverty, skin colour, the experience of being in care, or some intersection of those factors.

This was really interesting but I did get a little lost in the physics of it all.

Took about 100 pages to get into, I enjoyed the physics side of the book, I haven't had that in a book before, very enjoyable. I think it's a great plot, highly recommend

So, I was immediately drawn in by this book when it set the scene in South London around where I grew up! This setting played an important role in the book and captured the truth of being a teenager in such an area! Topics touched on school, gang culture and navigating teen love and these were all depicted in a way that felt organic! ☺️

The language used really fit the area and I enjoyed this so much! Although it can be a little cheesy if unfamiliar to you, I can assure you that school children in South London do actually speak this way!

These themes also gave a really strong YA feel without following the typical genre narratives ✨ I also enjoyed the educational side to the book. Hear me out. The book focuses fairly heavily on maths and science without being text booky or boring! It’s actually really exciting!

Have to say, first time I read a book where at the back they explain to me something in a way that I was able to understand while I didn't understand back in math class.

But that aside... A nicely built world, really makes me wish I understood more of physics than I do, just for the heck of it, but still enjoyable regardless! Had it's hook on me since I read that first chapter and I was honestly curious to see where it was going with it all. I have to admit I'd have been disappointed if it ended any other way, but also that there's an itsy bitsy detail that left me a bit confused at the end, so it didn't really connected from one event to the next with me...? But hey! Maybe I just need to take a look at the Upper World myself? I think, although, that I would've been able to enjoy it more if all the numbers and equations didn't feel like a complete different language to me.

What would YOU do if you knew your future?

Ugh. I really wanted to like this one.
