I read Kate’s horror book this year and can agree - horror has nothing on IRL survivalist. This book kept me gripped till the end. I’m in for whatever Kate is writing!

Easily a 5 star read. Left my emotions completely shattered.

I really liked this book! The character development was not only well written, but well-paced. It made complete sense for the main character to change and grow and exist in every way she did. The pacing of the book was also really good, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Also a nod to the description of the pain and injuries that Jess had prior to the book, as well as the way she must continue to take all of that into consideration. I've read many a book where a character is injured but they 'overcome their illness/injury/disability' to make it out alive and those just are not realistic. The author did an awesome job at making this seem realistic and as a chronic pain sufferer, I'm thrilled that someone actually understands the considerations!

An entertaining read, despite the many inconsistencies of Canadian flora and fauna. Which likely irked me more than most being a Canadian environmental biologist.

Such a good read. I never wanted to put this book down!

The premise of the book really pulled me in. Girl surviving in the wilderness after the death of her dad (not a spoiler literally in the summary) and then hunting down the killers. However, it was a much slower build up than I was imagining. It was also an extremely easy read, just a couple of hours to finish it off. If you like survival books and something that doesn’t take too much mental effort I recommend

Such a fantastic read! Loved the survival story and the revenge! Such a great read!

This was like The Great Alone but with MORE SURVIVING. Such a suspenseful read.
