I am so on board with Adams' characters dismantling toxic masculinity, and the spa scene will forever live in my memory (as well as a few applause worthy quotes scattered throughout). But OMG, the drama in this one was worthy of a daytime soap opera. Long lost father who needs a kidney, weird racist neighbor intent on ruining their reputation, and a dysfunctional family... it was a lot and I was low-key annoyed at this protagonist who [SPOILER ALERT] seemed to have no issues giving her kidney to a man who knew she existed, but never bothered to reach out before he needed something. Also, Candi is LITERALLY THE WORST.

I will still keep reading. I'm invested in these men-people.

I think this is my second favorite book in the series, behind book one, but it definitely had my favorite bookclub book - I wish it was real, because I would totally read it. I loved watching Alexis and Noah's friendship develop into something more. They are both dealing with some heavy traumas from their pasts so seeing them become the levity for each other was great. And not to be a broken record, but I really loved the strong focus on family in this story. It's a complex and messy situation but I loved how it unfolded. Alexis's trouble with a fellow business owner (a literal Karen) was the weakest point for me - it wasn't really bad, just not a priority to it kinda fell flat.

This is easily my favorite in the series so far.

As soon as I got approved for the ARC I shoved all obligations aside and stayed up WAY past my bedtime to read. I inhaled this installment in two sittings because I could.NOT.stop.reading.

CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE revolves around a Best Friends to Lovers trope and wow did it work! Noah and Alexis's slow burn evolution felt genuine and so well cared for. Their friends are not-so-casually nudging them to explore being more than friends and that enthusiasm had me shipping them hard from the get-go.

What I LOVE about this book:
* I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. There is certainly plenty of com in this rom-com. The Russian alone had me in stitches.
* There are some heavier issues at play, but I love how Adams weaves in those elements while still delivering a fun, well-developed romance with a happy ending.
* Return characters- while this can be a stand alone book the backstory of series regulars really adds depth.
* The dynamics of the male book club members. I love that they hold each other accountable while actively working to flip the narrative.
* Beefcake the Cat

Thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for the review copy.

I will absolutely keep reading these books. I loved the steam and was blown away at how much I loved a romance novel with a focus on the men. The writing did feel a little less polished and meaty (I literally can't think of another way to explain it right now), but the premise and storylines easily sucked me in and has me wanting to come back for more.

Definitely my favorite of this series!! Loved Alexis and Noah and following their friendship and subsequent relationship. This was also simultaneously the funniest (I laughed out loud so many times) and most heart-wrenching of the Bromance books.

Apropos of nothing, for some reason I pictured Noah as Jared Leto the whole time. Upon finishing the book I wonder why not someone else, but also... while reading I wasn't bothered by it.

Not a fan of this one.
