A great idea but slightly tediously written. Nice cliffhanger ending.

An eloquently written and heart-breakingly poignant novel which asks the question could you live in a world without love?

I found this book difficult to get into. It started very slowly, and I was half done before I really found myself getting sucked in. It was a difficult book to read, but it is certainly thought provoking, and it's better written than Twilight. I wouldn't be interested in reading it a second time, but I'm glad I read it.

Hm. Ich fands sehr vorhersehbar und irgendwie hab ich kaum Lust die anderen Teile zu lesen. Wird es besser?

Okay the begininng was a little slow for me :/ but once I got into it , it started getting better & better. Omg The ending had me in tears It was a really beautiful story. I hope the sequel is even better

This wasn't brilliantly written or anything like, but it was a great concept, executed with suspense and drama that I don't usually go in for. It was a great dystopic page-turner for the teen set. Love is a disease? Yes indeed, but being cured isn't all it's cracked up to be.

What would it be like to live in a world where not only the word love was outlawed, but the actual emotion itself was? After all, falling in love often brings heartache, depression, anxiety, and even worse, could lead to war. I actually quite enjoyed this distopian love story, part the Giver part Romeo and Juliette, part thriller. Tension surrounding 17-year-old Lena's journey from conformist to rebel, innocent to love-sick, and her choices about staying or leaving her world. Not squeeky clean, but it's underlying message that "you have to experience unhappiness to know real happiness" and exploration of love is a worthy one.

that was such a beautiful story I need the next book like I need air

Got as far as page 133 before abandoning. It's written as a first person story with a dreary, depressing quality. The whole thing is dull and unbelievable.
