Percy is an utter chaotic delight. Joe is the sensible one who's not sensible at all thus making them a match made in he....This book is fast paced, witty, and a nonstop adventure.

Despite everything going on around them...these two have some of the best relationship communication written...so all those little things that are big book blowups are resolved within a couple of pages and they're off to the next thing.

You need to read this sexy, fun, thrill ride. I will definitely be diving into book two.

too fast of a burn with too little character development. i knew it would be a fast burn going into it so that’s my bad but i wanted to give it a shot cause the plot seemed interesting, but i just know i wont stick thru 450 pages.

oh my. I love these two chaotic babies so much. the exasperated banter was a high note of the book, but the love Percy and Joe have for each other bleeds off the page. the side characters were also wonderful, particularly Giordano. I cannot wait to read the next installment to see what types of shenanigans our boys get into.

So in the beginning I wasn’t sure this was the book for me. I struggled with the pacing a bit the writing style. Which was absolutely a me thing. But I am so so glad I carried on.

This book was so original. A priest and an art historian fall in love?  There’s zombies??  Kick ass side characters??? Amazing. Definitely a premise I haven’t read before and I give hella points for the originality.

This has some great tropes, virgin, insta love, adventure (I’m making it a trope ok) touch him and 💀. Just to name a couple.

I love Percy. Like he’s the most chaotic charming man and he has Joe enraptured, god aside. They compliment each other in such a beautiful way. How grounds Percy and Percy shows Joe the life he can live and enjoy.

The spice level is nice, and it’s written so very well. I’m mean the first 10 pages and you’re in. It’s wonderful. But it doesn’t over take the story, which I greatly appreciate. There is a mild cliffhanger as we wait for book 2, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Overall great book, love the excitement and the originality. This is definitely a you need to read kind of book.

Sinful Crimes for the Artistically Inclined by WH Lockwood is quite a romp!

It’s everything it promises and more—exactly what I needed after finishing a grimdark fantasy.

Meet Catholic priest and exorcist Joe Bruno, who's been nursing a secret crush on the irresistible, demon-slaying art historian, Percy Ashdown. One fateful night, when Joe realises he might lose Percy forever, he lays his cards on the table. Little does he know, Percy has dreamed of this moment since day one! Before you can say "Hail Mary," they whisk off to Europe for the adventure of a lifetime.  Suddenly, they're caught up in crime, blood, and a whole lot of mm romp!

The characters are super fun and well-developed, with fascinating insights into history thanks to Percy's passion for ancient treasures (his is an art historian/thief with a ‘penchant’ for Caravaggio) and Joe's expertise. Their journey is packed with twists, showcasing the ups and downs of their unconventional ‘situationship.’

I was initially confused because I didn’t realise this was a spin-off of a previous Lockwood's trilogy, which made me feel like I was missing some backstory. However, that didn't affect my overall enjoyment of the story! The prose is anarchic, the pacing is fantastic, and there’s a delightful dash of kink. WH Lockwood truly grips you from start to finish—the title says it all! #pudseyrecommends

DID NOT FINISH: 16%

I cried the moment I realised I was not going to finish this book. I had read many good reviews and the art and 'trope list' made me think this was going to be amazing. But as soon as I started reading it, I knew this would be either a DNF or a 'struggle through it'. I think the things that tripped me were the 3rd POV, the unrealistic dialogues and the weird way of explaning certain things (in non-sensical comics?). I got to page 60 and all they did was have sex and, like, talk about things that made no sense? Also, suddenly there's like a zombie/ skeleton in the basement? But then there's no comment about it after the fact. I received this as part of the ARC for the second book in the series, but I am very sad to say I probably won't be reading it. Please, to anyone who has given this book 5 stars, tell me why? Because I really want to be wrong with this one.
