I loved Hadley and Bennett’s story! This is one of my favorite security series and this was an excellent addition. Hadley was such a badass and I loved her! Bennett was unexpected but I loved him and how he was with Hadley. I can’t wait for the next book!

A standard Hackett book with a charming (billionaire) alpha hero and a beautiful, ice-cool heroine who kicks major ass, working together to bring down a black-market weapon dealer. For a change, she's the one who's closed off due to past betrayal. He also had baggage but he's all in. Their issues should've taken more time to resolve instead of disappearing magically.
Nevertheless, I did enjoy them - they have good chemistry, worked great together and them having interactions previously toned down the instalovey feels. Sexy times are inappropriate at times, but still fun. I also liked that he's the sidekick for a change, althoughshe's still the one taken by the villain at the climax, sigh . Action wise, it's fast paced and entertaining.

This series seems to get darker and darker each book. Really pushing me to suspend my anti-police/military beliefs. Good thing Hadley is hot.

Alas, this was a weaker entry in the series for me, I think probably because British billionaires are pretty terrible right now and so it’s really hard to give into the fantasy. Being charitable and kind does not align with excessive wealth.
Hadley and Bennett also had little to help them stand out from the crowd of Hackett couples, there are no real barriers to their being together and little that makes them exciting when they are together. The main plot was also a little meh, which is a shame.
Am I going to read Steel? You bet your arse I will. Am I already hyping up Hex’s book now that we’ve met her match? Hell yes I am. Do I also need Bram’s book right now? YUP. Here’s hoping the rest of the Sentinel crew make up for my disappointment here.
