I really liked the 1st boyfriend project book and knew that I would be continuing the series. Another very well written fun book. It reminded me a lot of Wait for It by Jen McKinley. 4*
3.5 stars rounded up: tropey fake dating story; injured football player and personal trainer start fake dating to keep the press off the scent of him trying to reenter the NFL; sweet and sensitive hero, heroine with learning disabilities trying to get into college after having a career… sweet ending ⭐️⭐️⭐️
3.5* Read
This was an enjoyable read. I liked both Jamar and Taylor. They were both mature, kind and good-natured people, so it was easy to root for their romance. I particularly loved the banter in this book, it is well-written and witty.
I didn't give this book a higher rating because the plot was familiar; the personal trainer and athlete storyline gave me similar vibes to the movie "Just Wright". I also wished there were more dates and wooing in the story. Overall, this is a well-written and sweet story with very likeable characters. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

Rating: 4.5 stars!
Fake Dating Trope with a personal trainer heroine and an ex-NFL player hero looking to get back in the game
Fun and flirty with such loveable characters. Amazing chemistry! Steam content itself is low (for me) but I didn't miss it
Learning disability representation with a strong, ambitious heroine. I respected Taylor so much! She was intimidated by her successful best friends and the high standard set by her family but she fought for her success!
Found family vibes/ Strong Girlfriend bonds- Taylor and her GFs, Samiah and London always have each other's back and push each other to be the very best. I love this group of women!
Jamar was the absolute sweetest! He's dealing with grief and guilt but his heart was SO big! I loved him!
P.S. I loved all the added health tips and healthy food recs included

I'm a sucker for a sports romance, and this was a pretty cute one! The Dating Playbook is the second in The Boyfriend Project series, and I liked this one more than the first book. The fake dating trope actually works here and doesn't feel overdone or completely unbelievable. It is solidly written but it still had a few issues.
Taylor was a hard worker and had lofty goals, but was also a bit of a mess and read quite a bit younger than 28 to me. She was my biggest struggle in this book. I didn't connect with her personality as much as I wanted to. She was willing to go after what she wanted and grew a lot without losing that spark that makes her, her. I can appreciate that. Now, Jamar was a pure dreamboat boyfriend. He was kind, supportive, and understanding, but also not afraid to challenge Taylor to make her better. I loved them together and thought they balanced each other out well.
The friend group was absolutely a highlight of the story. I loved seeing the ladies who were treated so poorly by a guy at the beginning of the first book, continue to support and build each other up. It was a fun dynamic.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I'm excited for London's story next. Hopefully the author will end the series with a hit for me!
