I struggled with this book for the first 20% of it and nearly dnf'd it. Instead I put it down for a few months and came back to it when I was in a better reading frame of mind. After I picked it back up, I had trouble putting it down. I'm not sure if my difficulties in the beginning were due to the story or myself.
Bleh. If you can read this and not picture Spike, you're more talented than I am. So, it's a Buffy and a Spike and so much terrible dialogue and random talk about sex and... no. This isn't what I want to read.

I'm probably forgetting some but those are the ones I remember.
I'm gonna preface this by saying I don't usually read romance and I mostly started reading this book as a joke to myself that being said:
What I liked: the plot and the writing were good enough for me to actually read most of the book without just skimming through, Cat is an interesting character and Bones is the classic sexy vampire and a decent man, the making out scenes were well writing.
Things to notice: some chapters drag around the same thing for pages and the action scenes get kinda boring when they are happening one after the other, there was only one explicit scene everything else was fade to black
What I hated: the slut shaming happening basically every other chapter, honestly it was disgusting and one of the main reasons I skimmed through some chapters. The low(high)-key racism and white saviour trope. General misogyny and homophobia. What annoys me the most is that none of these things were necessary for the story to work, honestly it would have been better without them and I'm being generous with the two stars.
The book gets really predictable in the last few chapters, overall entertaining if you're willing to oversee a lot of negatives and focus mostly on the relationship between the main characters.

L'histoire est sympa, mais il manque le style, le temps que prend l'installation d'une intrigue et d'une relation. Tout va trop vite, et ça donne une impression de livre bâclé.

pengalaman pertama baca pararom... not bad lah. vampir + vampir slayer, memang sedikit mengingatkan pada buffy/angel tapi aku suka karakter Cat yang sinis, berlidah tajam meski kadang-kadang kekanakan. beruntung dia bertemu dengan master vampir baik(?) seperti Bones, dan bukan seseorang sesevampir yang manipulatif, jahat, tukang tipu, dll, dll.
