C’è qualcosa in questo romanzo che non mi convince. Eppure è ben scritto, storicamente accurato e i personaggi sono validi. Forse è proprio il mistero del miniaturista che non mi va a genio sia stato liquidato in questo modo frettoloso.

I’m not sure about this one. The character development was good; I really felt for Nella and her disappointing life situation. Some of the storyline I enjoyed, some of it I hated. It’s annoying that the story included a gay affair, but at least the author mostly handled it in a way that would be fitting for that time period: as a crime, a negative thing that benefitted nobody in the end and caused a lot of destruction. The story also included also a child conceived out of wedlock. There were a lot of really messed up relationships going on.
