The last book in this series, and it was super cute.

The narrator brought the story to life, and I enjoyed every second of it.

this was really really really long and a lot like pride and prejudice (too much like it)

Thiiiiiis was amazing. Everything I wanted and such a good slow burn. The TENSION!!

once again duped by my own illiteracy into reading the last of a series first. I liked these two and it's unique to see someone be a Nice character but be so ungodly mean to try to get a rise out of someone. I do understand - my husband when he was my boyfriend was impossible to fight with due to implacability. she needn't worry, having children will help you get all your fighting in

I do have such a fondness for a mistressy plot even when it goes nowhere as is so often the case, and I'm not sure exactly what itch it gets to. maybe it's the forthrightness and easiness about sex.

Yeah, this one hit all the right notes for me. Parts of it feel like an Austen novel (sometimes it’s Pride & Prejudice, sometimes it’s Persuasion). Christine and Wulf are a delightful compliment to one another. Even when they see qualities in on another that they find off-putting and strange, they cannot help but like one another. One of my favorite historical romances.

This book was well worth the listen to all the other books. Wulf is just amazing. By now we’ve seen the hints of the man behind his icy stare and quizzing glass, but  in this book we see him both as he needs to be but also who he is deep inside.
I really enjoyed that this was not a young love or a spring/autumn romance. Similar to the first book we are dealing with adults who have lived and loved and lost and are not just one sided. Wulf’s ability to cut to the chase and Christine’s ability to stare down a problem and laugh at others and herself are all qualities I admire

Oh and my favorite scene - when at the ball she pulls out the quizzing glass she kept and stares at him right back. I would love to see that in a tv or movie as it had me laughing loudly.

The other scene I loved was all the Bedwyn siblings scheming to get Wulf and Christine together

Now that I’m done with the series I feel a little sad. I will say that while there’s no second epilogue for the characters like bridgerton you do get an update of the earlier romances as this takes place a few years after the first book
