I respected this novel more than I actually enjoyed it, but I do think it's very well-written and conceived. The characterization is nuanced and realistic, and the story's setting compels so much drama and, frankly, made me feel better informed on one of the major contemporary issues of our time. The ending was especially impactful and appropriate. I really enjoyed the sense of fatalism and the layers of fiction and reality crashing in on each other, as though our conceptions of the world and the stories we create inevitably fashion real-world consequences. There were some fascinating narrative choices as well, such as switching from prose to script and changing the tense for the final chapter.

Overall a good novel that I would recommend, albeit one that I didn't connect with very deeply.

One of the best books I’ve read. Beautifully written with interesting techniques for putting the text into script format throughout the book. Also felt very emotional and informative in the context of Palestine today, through the lens of the creative industries and everyday life.

Cant recommend it enough

Beautifully written, character-driven novel about a British Palestinian woman spending time living and working in occupied Palestine. I liked this but struggled with the pacing.
