This book is an unhinged, silly, no impulse control, queer fever dream and I had the best time reading it.
I’m scarred for life and charmed beyond belief.

My first book of 2022 was a gem !

TJ Klune wrote a hilarious, comedic, sweet and borderline surreal story, making you laugh, hide your face from second-hand embarassment and absolutely refuse to let the book down !

I loved every page of this book, Sam's cluelessness, Gary's sass, Kevin....everything about Kevin, Ryan being an adorable dork, Morgan, Randall, pretty much everything !

I will never, ever understand how it's the most "serious" books of Klune that have the most sales - it's obvious to me that humor is the best part of Klune's writing !

This story was so much fun, and I LOVED Michael Lesley doing the audiobook, the reading of this was just stunning he did an amazing job acting and all of the voices. I really hope he does the other ones coming up in the series. I loved all of the crazy characters it was really funny.

This was a fun book. It took a bit to get into the tone, but I enjoyed it. The serious parts were jarring, and really slowed the pace down. I feel they could have been shorter, especially the last mess-up. I didn't really feel the book played that right. The prince made a really weird play that would literally hurt his rule as king. And the king not being able to stop it made no sense. It really pulled me out of the story, it was unrealistic. It felt like a fake, weirdly contrived plot point.

Wtf did I just read?

I asked myself that constantly while reading this book, but couldn't put it down. Endlessly entertaining. My only complaint is that it sometimes felt like everyone was the same character, because they all spoke the same way (except Tiggy).

Amusing, but I do not feel a need to read the next book in the series.

Hilarious, banter-filled, loveable characters, all doing what TJ Klune does so well. 0.5 stars deducted because surely no one can be THAT clueless. But maybe I’m just impatient.

"My heart boner is getting chubbed-up again. "

The kitsch is cranked up way too high. I love goofy stuff, but I'm getting so impatient to read something better, I'm doing a first for me. I'm gonna DNF this novel at 90%.
