Unpopular Opinion: I love Jacob. Not for Bella, just in general.

My god Bella pull yourself together. This entire book was nearly insufferable by Bella’s moody and borderline suicidal tendencies. He’s just a guy, not even a very caring or interesting guy. Get over it. That being said I enjoyed the introduction of the wolf pack in this book as a way to thicken the lore of the world and the nail biting chase to Italy to save Edward. That and the motorcycle seen were the most fun I had in this entire book. I would have rated this one higher if Bella wasn’t such a boring wimpy piece of trash character.

The characters talk and feel like aliens who just graduated from human training camp.

I’m literally rereading these books purely for the nostalgia and I can’t lie, it’s been interesting… 😂

Look, we all know these books aren’t great, but sometimes reading a trashy, entertaining book is what we need.

This book is my least favourite, Edward’s a dick, Bella’s whiny and annoying, Jacob isn’t much better, but it’s kind like that saying about a car accidents… you want to look away but you just can’t…

Overall, it’s not a great book, but, my god, it’s entertaining… 😂

I liked this one a lot less than the first book, largely in part because I have a stupid attachment to Edward and he was barely in the book. And the fact that he left. A bunch of things about the plot and such just pissed me off. I would have liked the book better too, if Jacob didn't have feelings for her and just wanted to be friends. I like his character separate from his feelings for Bella. Even during my "Twilight phase" in middle school this was my least favorite book of the series. Re-reading now (in 2020) it still is.

I still have no idea why this was my favourite book of the series, maybe because we got some kind of emotion from Bella and how she was around Jacob, maybe it was the trip to Italy and the introduction to some potentially good villains, maybe I'll never know. Whilst Bella does spend the book in a catatonic state after an unnecessary event early on in the books, I found this book more readable than the first one when I was a fan. I think the relationship that Bella developed with Jacob in this book felt a bit more natural than that of Eclipse but it was obvious even in this book that Bella was still going to end up with Edward. The only aspect of this book that I never liked was why Edward left Bella which whilst it could be justified, it just felt like a stupid decision that was made so that we could have the love triangle in the next book.
