3.5 stars? I had such high hopes for this as The Kind Worth Killing was a great thriller for me. This one didn't quite live up to the high hopes that I had.

This follows the story of Henry Kimball, now a PI as he is hired by a former student to investigate a potential affair of her husband. The story then reveals information of her past, and Henry's as well as crimes of yesterday are revealed.

My issue here is that while I can often suspend belief for the sake of a good story, the motives for several of our characters are paper thin which took away from the story. I wish sometime was spend developing them and their motives for the actions that they took.

3.5 ⭐

Same trope recycled but it was well done, even the end was satisfying.

Now.

I'm not sure about his writing, I think it's dry and underwhelming. But hey, fun story.

I love a book with twists and turns and interconnected devious people.

just as much fun as the first book! even though there weren’t really any crazy twists, it still felt like a suspenseful thriller and i love the way he writes. gonna read the third when i get back home!

This was good but the first one was great

It’s been sooo long since I read The Kind Worth Killing that I don’t remember what Henry or Lily were up to in that book, but I don’t know that you had to read the first one. This was still really entertaining on its own!

Loved this one so much! I think I liked it more than the first book.

Henry Kimball finds himself hired as a private investigator for a client who is certain her husband is cheating on her.

Things go awry when he goes into a house that he was sent to by his client and stumbles upon a crime scene.
fast-paced

Wow. This book had a lot of surprises for a book where you know the bad guys from the very beginning. I was shocked by the end. Definitely recommend.

I would recommend that you start with the first one because I was a little confused on some of the back story.
