This was a great fast paced thriller and sequel to “The Kind Worth Killing”. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
Something has always felt off about Joan, she seems…dangerous. One day she turns up at Henry’s door – he’s a private investigator and she asks him to investigate her husband. Henry remembers Joan from his days as a high school teacher – the day something went horribly wrong.
This simple case of infidelity goes sideways when Henry finds Joan’s husband and his supposed mistress dead. Henry can’t help but feel the past is repeating itself.
Is it possible that Joan knows something about what happened all those years ago? Is someone getting away with murder? Will Henry be able to figure this puzzle out…or will the danger be too much?
This was a fast-paced book told through several points of view per part. I really enjoyed how each part had different points of views, but they all flowed together seamlessly. This book was also well written and developed. I particularly enjoyed how this book was about a serial killer and told from their point of view. Those are always some of my favorite chapters. However, this book was not my favorite. I didn’t feel like I cared about the characters, and one of the characters that the book was about was introduced too late for me.
If you’re looking for a unique book about a serial killer, then grab a copy of this one – it’s out now!

Henry Kimball is working as a private investigator when Joan enters his office. She was one of his students when he taught high school, and now she’d like to hire him to ascertain whether or not her husband is having an affair. As Kimball starts working on the case, he realizes Joan is much more complicated than he initially assumed.
Peter Swanson is one of my go-to mystery writers; this book reminded me why. His stories are always fast-paced, exciting, and feature twists I don’t see coming. The Kind Worth Saving is the sequel to Swanson’s The Kind Worth Killing, which I haven’t read. Since I enjoyed this book so much, I want to go back and read the first one.

I loved “A Kind Worth Killing” but this one didn’t live up to my expectations. It was still a decent book but no nearly as suspenseful or twisty as I was hoping.
I expected for this book to be much more about Lily and what was likely so be discovered when the well was found but it was about 2 brand new characters. I unfortunately disliked both of these characters.
I had trouble accepting the unrealistic way that some of the dots were connected. The way that the characters were reaching to come to different conclusions was honestly ridiculous at times.
Lily did show up though and she was my favorite part of the book. If you liked the first book I recommend reading this one but don’t expect to be wowed. There were some unanswered questions but it was still pretty solid.
