I've guessed that the ending could be like that; when I said that Vi is maybe Fiera's reincarnation and she was the one to help her mother in all of it etc. really didn't wanted this book to end like this. even if I guessed it, it kinda disappointed me how it ended... felt so empty, numb...
now, probably, she'll try to prevent what's happening from the beginning but since you can't change anything in the history no matter how many times you try... don't think it would make much of a difference than we'll read it rather than hearing it.

just hoping that the next book is better than this... something should go a bit of a good direction, right?!

I've always known that Taavin will betray her and wasn't actually meant anything other than she would save the world... and I think they did already killed Aldrik while they were casting the spell in Taavin's room.
the audacity of him to act like Vi was the one to betray him was so frustrating!! he was the one to manipulate her, betray her, made her and Aldrik captured by them and her father died because of him... and because he endured a bit of pain from the magic he thought that he's right to yell at her! "don't touch me ever again. not in this world" who do you think you are!! she shouldn't wanna want to touch you!

I received an e-ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Review can also be found on *Milky Way of Books*

The third book of the series filled me with dread. Elise Kova is a master on creating worlds you want to explore and yet fear page after page for the characters' lives. I can't spoil much and I can only say that Vi and Taavin have a growing relationship and yet when I reached the end and REALIZED WHAT THE TRUTH WAS I cried and gasped. Elise had also said that she had the plot in her mind even from the beginning of Air Awakens so I can understand where the next book will move into.

Still, I dread to see how the series will end.
And there's no feeling of losing interest in the future!

there is no reason this book should have taken me 3 weeks to finish, by golly. this was not good and i’m very confused with how it ended.

i honestly don’t even wanna finish the series. it’s just fainting my view of elise kova’s writing
adventurous dark emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

"In the darkness, the crown princess felt herself burning alive, from her heart outward. But she didn’t cry. She didn’t call for help.
She let the fires within burn.
Until there was nothing left but ash."

The last twist at the end of the book was really unexpected! Enjoyed this one as well, the next book sounds like it's going to be something else!

I received an early copy of this book for an honest review.

Despite being a huge fan of Elise Kova, I decided I would try and not be biased when diving into this review. I could easily reward it five stars if I wanted because I did enjoy it thoroughly as I do all of her books...but I won’t (future me: it’s still five stars

MOTHER ABOVE❗️

This one is my favorite so far.
I feel like the pacing of this one was overall better, it was action-packed and we learned some new things. Just learning more and more about the world is so much fun for me. The only thing is that I'm not too invested in the romance. I don't hate it or anything, but I'm more interested in the plot and the characters' journeys.

ALSO, THE ENDING HAD ME SO CONFUSED LIKE WTF IS GOING ON.
Rating: 4,5 stars.

Failed Future was thankfully a step back up from Chosen Champion. It felt better balanced, it struck more emotional nerves, and it maintained that same ease of reading I liked in Chosen Champion. In the span of just a few hours, this whole book was devoured.

Quite a fun read, overall, and it held a lot of things I wasn't anticipating. For one, Taavin and Vi's relationship was definitely tempered down and experiences conflict. From how fast they seemed to be enamored in the second book, I was certain book three would be just, endless declarations and kissing, but it laid bare a lot of things and has certainly set up things that are to be overcome yet.

There isn't much to elaborate on because I was overall satisfied with the events that unfolded, but I still say that I was really happy that Aldrick's character was what I'd expected it to be at this point in his life (he's somewhere in his 40s, I believe) from knowing him throughout Air Awakens--it's really sweet how he loves and believes in his daughter.

It also turns out that I was right--this series does feature an element of time travel, though, not in the way I initially anticipated. I figure from this point on, we'll now see the other side of those moments in Air Awakens. The curiosity shop, the windmill, the final battle, etc.

Onward, to the fourth book.

Also, I do want to say that I was given a free ebook omnibus of all five books in this series for the purposes of review by the author, but my thoughts remain wholly my own. The only stipulation (and it was flexible, should circumstances pop up to prevent it) put on me and that I agreed to post my reviews by a certain time. Very standard stuff for review copies.
