Not a book for those of light heart, this edition of Dan Brown's series is tense and fast paced. Following along can be difficult with a surge of plot twists and development. However, a wonderful read that keeps you at the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next.

Yes. Well. Uhm. It's a Dan Brown book. I think I swore I would never read another Dan Brown book but then he wrote one about Florence, where I've spent two weeks recently, and after getting it tossed almost literally in my lap I decided to give it a go. The thing I enjoyed most is that I could precisely imagine where they went in Florence. All the references to art are nice too. That's about it.

(In my humble opinion Dan Brown is a rather bad writer, with unbelievable plots and a most annoying writing style. His way of introducing thrill to the plot has no finesse to it at all, it's just a with-holding of information, even if it makes no sense character or plot-wise.)

Dan Brown has lost it.. He is writing the same book with a different context, but only worse.
Inferno is your usual Angels & Demons/ Da Vinci Code styled race to the finish, but only without the symbolism, or intrigue. He has tried to make it like those books, but it turned out to be more of a tourist guide, or rather an architectural dissertation, about Florence.

With the usual elements of last minute twist, or the treachery of someone close to the story line, this venture fell flat on its face in creating or sustaining the mystery required to carry the story forward. Half way through the book you will figure out the ending. But the most irritating aspect of the book is that it will bore you to death by describing the architecture of Florence.

A below average book which can be easily avoided..

Pretty good, I especially liked how the author describes the different places the main character has to go to. This was my first Dan Brown book, and overall it was good.
SPOILERS AHEAD
I liked the whole thing about the plague, and how Langdon tries to stop it from spreading. I also liked Sienna as a character in general. But I think the ending could have been a lot better. The problem presented in the book is actually very real, and that is kinda creepy, as much as the fact that the organisation that helped Zobrist to disappear exists.
Anyway, 4 stars. Not fantastic, but pretty good.

Typical Dan Brown stuff....lots of history, arts, science, suspense....and a great character of Robert Langdon...not as great as "THE DA VINCI CODE" but certainly worth reading....

this book is very similar to the other books in the series, but, as always, i was surprised by the twist towards the end. this is one of those books that i only read because 1) i should finish the series and 2) i like to learn about art and art history in a way that is not overwhelmingly boring. the plotline of the plague and the subsequent opinions about population growth and the use of plagues as a form of population control from the various characters were... borderline ecofascist and eugenic thoughts. but overall, dan brown constantly proves that he is a good(ish) thriller writer.
