I just recently discovered Monica Murphy and I'm so glad I came across her books because wow I loved Fair Game. The characters held my attention till the very end. Shep and Jade together led to some sexy and funny moments, they were just adorable together and what I loved was that Murphy gave us point of views from both characters which really helped especially in Sheps case because I probably wouldn't have liked him much if we only had Jade's perspective but thanks to his p.o.v I loved him.

No insta-love thank goodness, although there was an attraction between the two from the get-go, but the romance between the two was a slow burn and happened in a realistic time frame.

Was there cliche moments...yes. Did it follow your typical man-whore guy falling for a girl he never would and changing his way for her...yes BUT it was still an addictive read because Murphy knows how to write great characters with some laugh out loud moments mixed within. So if you love New Adult Romance check this one out.

There are three books in the series each one about a different couple and I can't wait to read Gabe's and Tristan's stories.

Memorable Quotes:

~"Her hair is like fire. Vibrant and bright, wild and free–I sound like a fucking poet in my head."

~"He should be drinking cheap beer like everyone else but nooo. He's Shepard Prescott, special snowflake."

She's done it again!! Monica Murphy has created a brand new series that is sure to have you laughing and falling in love with a whole host of fantastic characters.

Within the first 5% of Fair Game, I had already lost count of how many times I had laughed out loud. The character's dialogue and narrative told through dual POV were witty and made it so easy to become immersed in their story.

Word of advice before you dive in: Prepare yourself for Shepard Prescott. Holy smokes! This. Guy. Is. On. Fire!!! I am completely guilty of falling for Shep. I'm more than certain it would be impossible not to! He's just that good!!

Though both Shep and Jade each have their own small hurdles to overcome, I was waiting for a twist, or just generally something bigger for them to overcome which would add intensity to their story. While that didn't happen, it didn't take away from how great this book truly was.

It's no secret that I love Monica Murphy, and Fair Game just added to that love! I eagerly await the next two releases and couples in this series.

I know without a doubt that I’m falling. Falling in love with her. So I’m taking care of what’s mine. Jade.

3.75 stars for an addictive read

without spoiling the plot i thought the book was good other than the girl she was clueless other then her and her nonsense I liked it

Betting on her

I was recommended this book in a reading group. Jade is a firecracker, speaking her mind and not holding back with someone upsets her, shepard finds it hard to adjust to a new way of thinking, when he slowly becomes obsessed with jade and winning her in a card game. Great collage drama of young adults finding their way around the battlefield that is love.

3 Stars...!!

This book was in the same storyline of books like The Deal and Sweet Home. A rich guy fall for a pretty normal girl who makes him fall flat on his ass.

But unlike Rome and Garrett, our hero is a little different. He is not a tortured but a lost hero. Yes,his family is disfunctional, but he is merely confused and lost sailing through life. Oh and did I'm nation he runs an underground illegal casino. Yup. He will tempt you ladies...!!

I liked jade. She was sarcastic, snarky, and I love the slap she gave Shep in the begidoesn't She was a tough one but all sweet inside. They made a good pair.

So why three Stars you ask..?

The problem with the book for me was there was a lot of things to like in it,but I did not quite love anything. They do made a cute couple and I did love their banter. But they lacked substance. I never came across a scene where they talk, you know, get to know each other. Nothing at all deep. There wasn't even one moment where they share there weaknesses, their past, their pain. Nothing Nada.

I was a bit disappointed by the author here...!:( because the characters were rich and substantial. She could have developed them into something deeper. But I felt like she just scratched the surface of both of them.

And then there was Shep. In many instances he himself agrees he is a rich spoilt brat who has everything he needs and doesn't have to work for anything. And the sad part is throughout the book he doesn't, not even for our pretty heroine. Even when he screws up she easily forgives and forget. I felt like he was too damn lucky. The only problem he had was a set of overbearing and selfish parents. Come on that's not the end of the world. I mean they weren't abusive or controlling, they were just selfish and demanding.
Our hero really had it easy...!!
I feelthe author should have given him a voice and a purpose here. We even get to what their college major were at the end. Ughh..!! I was really frustrated at the lack of resourceful character building information...!!

Okay I guess I did enough bitching. Don't get me wrong though. I did like the book.. (Like being the key word!)
It was pretty cute read...

People who like college stories about a player brought to heel should definitely go for it..!!

2.5 stars.

I honestly don’t know how I finished this book. By the time I wanted to dnf, I felt too far in and forced myself to finish.

Firstly, the h was soooo annoying and downright mean. I can appreciate a strong heroine, but she was not that. Not to mention her constant low self-esteem even after the H reassured her so many times that he found her attractive. Overall, she was annoying and the epitome of the “not like other girls” archetype.

I thought the H was disgusting and I hated the way he spoke about women in general.

I didn’t care for any of the side characters either.

Just a disappointing read.

honestly, shep is such a weird name to me but I love it. It was so interesting and funny how she slapped him that one time!! but I love him so I'm glad he ended up happy.
