this book is for the girlies who believe in the ache of love. the softest kind. the kind that simmers quietly, then stays with you. it felt made for me—a romance truther through and through, the type to highlight confessions and re-read longing.
the pacing flowed like silk. not rushed, not too slow. just enough space for the story to breathe. the plot isn’t something i’ve never seen before, but this version of it felt different—gentler, more grounded. not the usual enemies to lovers chaos. it gave tension, but in a way that felt safe to fall into.
the characters were warm and well-shaped. they didn’t scream for attention, they simply existed in their world and let me step into it. and the narration felt easy, like it knew its purpose. not trying too hard to be clever, just honest. delicate but not dull.
if i’m being honest, the only thing keeping it from a perfect score is that i wanted more. more kisses, more dates, more quiet scenes of them choosing each other again and again. i wanted to stay in the love a little longer.
still, a 4.75. lovely in all the right places. a comfort read for the soft girls who know love like a second language.

Yaaaas, I just love me some academic rivals and they really hated each other for a long time (ok it probably was just from her side) the story kept me quite entertained and interested. I realized, that my favorite books aren't just scientist romances, but just in general high academic romances, with a bit of enemies to lovers in there. Even though I'm now a little older than the characters i still didn't feel as awkward reading this, as with other books. I loved their building relationship and how everything developed kept things interesting. Julius is a dream...
