I listened to the audio version thanks to the library. Another book that is a must-read by audio to give it it's full justice. William Shatner narrates it and he is a masterful storyteller. I won't say how long I've been a fan, but it was so nice to learn more about him, sometimes you forget he's not actually captained Kirk. Some things will probably shock you. I love his outlook on life and his motivation. He is also very open-minded and reminded you that he doesn't give advice, he just tells you what worked for him. A definite must read especially if you live Star Trek.

I recently saw William Shatner live in conversation after a viewing of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan." He told a few stories from this book, but I was desperate for more. This is the 3rd Shatner memoir I've listened to on audio (others were "Up Till Now" and "Shatner Rules"), and I would gladly listen to 3 more! He is an amazing human being and a fantastic entertainer. <3

An amusing review of life as told by the great William Shatner. The book is short and fast paced as Shatner goes through experiences he has had in his life (often in a funny way) and how that has affected his mindset on life. The book as a whole is Shatner's answers to many questions you may have on his views on different aspects of life.

I won this book as an arc thru goodreads. I was super excited!
Overall a really enjoyable book. I haven't read any of his previous work and had no idea about his third wife.
The book is actually pretty funny. A very pleasant surprise!! I literally giggled out loud.
Some parts of the book seemed to repeat a bit and I skimmed the last chapter. That may just be preference of reader. I'm not a big what about death person.
Overall. Very good!!

There was no clear narrative and the book felt a little preachy at times, but overall full of good humor and personality.

This is an enjoyable book that does exactly what it promised. I received the book as a free ARC from a Goodreads giveaway. It is William Shatner, in his voice, discussing some of the hardest things that it can take years to know. In the very beginning, he promises that this is not a book of advice and while it isn't, one can take his anecdotes and stories and the advise to hopefully live long and prosper as he has. If you are interested in Shatner in anyway, it is a good read.

After both William Shatner and his wife had health scares, he found himself reflecting on his life ahd his beliefs. This is his "self-help" manual, throughout which he tells the reader often not to take his advice. Everyone needs to live their own lives and follow their hearts.
What he has to say is not that simple. Right from the start, he touched me as he speaks about how difficult it is for him to be a friend. He doesn't know how. Neither do I and it is something that has been on my mind a lot lately.
Philosophically, I found some great thought starters in this book. Style wise, it is very stream of consciousness. I assume a lot of that is because his co-writer, David Fisher, let him speak on each topic and then edited it. There is some repetition as a result of that, but I am glad I read it.

He sounded so sad when talking a lil about his relationship with nimoy.
Reminded me of a dear friend of mine.
Guess we will never understand or gain closure...
I enjoyed this as shatner is always brutally honest..
Ill be as sad when.... the time comes as i was when it came for nimoy...
