Could the cops be more stupid? It didn't even take me long to figure out who the killer was. But since this is Alex Kava's debut book and also my first book from hers, I'll give her a chance. I would love to read more of her books and see how far her writing skills have improved.

Very disappointing. I thought at first the plot was good enough for me to overlook the preoccupation with attractive people, their good looks, their clothes, and how often they "accidentally" brushed against each other. But it wasn't. No psychological insight. Very shallow.

Not great, 2.5 stars.

The heroine is a big-shot FBI profiler, with a failing marriage and emotional baggage from the killer who got away. The case involves a small town, man-whore sherrif with daddy issues; his sister, the unscrupulous newpaper reporter and inattentive single mom; big daddy who comes out of retirement to boss around his hapless offspring; the killer (lacking only a Law and Order style "bum-bum" sound every time he appears, so that we know he's the killer); and a supporting cast of #MeToo pervs. Complete with a hapless victim named Timmy - all we are missing is a dog to go get Timmy out of the well.

Though anyone can guess who the killer is as soon as he is introduced this book is worth a read with a good twist in the plot every now & then.

A nice page-turner... I like Maggie O'Dell and I will definitely read the next books in the series.

I was so glad I found this book at the library. I was in a bad-book slump for the past few days, and I thought my eyes were going to be stuck permanently in rolling position due to the ridiculous thrillers I had been trying to read. Thankfully, A Perfect Evil yanked me out of my slump and immediately put me on the edge of my seat.

The subject matter was extremely difficult to read, because anything involving violence to children tears me apart. Also, there were some memories from one of the characters that made me have to stop for a bit. The case was extremely well-paced and suspenseful, though. I do have to say that I knew who the killer was almost from the moment he was introduced, but the author still kept things fresh with little surprises and reveals.

I could have done without the romance part of it, but that's more personal preference than anything else. I usually get annoyed and skim through mushy stuff anyway.

I really enjoyed this first book, and the best part is that it's a series and my library has all of them so I will definitely keep reading!

Highly recommended if you enjoy thrillers.

No, dai.. Che vergogna :(

I really enjoyed this book. It got 4 stars only because of the ending...I feel like it was long and dragged out. I really liked the plot of the book and the characters were really developed and I can't wait to see where the Stucky case goes.
