I enjoyed this final book in the series. I loved how the main female character doubted her actions without being whiny. Elle Casey did a great job with the internal dialogue, showing why Mika was so hesitant to trust and act. Enjoyable read.

Wrong turn, right direction is the last book of Elle Casey's Bourbon street boys series. This book could be read as a stand alone and out of order.
Tamika Cleary is in a bind. She is working with the New Orleans Police Depart Department to help put away her boss for a very long time. While on the way there, she mistakenly ends up driving the wrong way on a one way street and hits an unsuspecting pedestrian.
Thibault Delacroix, the unsuspecting pedestrian is kindly known by his friends to have a superman complex, he is thrown for a loop when his assailant seems to be in labor. Despite his ails, he helps deliver an innocent little baby and then trouble starts.
This book was great. It had me in stiches from the beginning. Tamika's "Mika" attitude and fierce attitude bounces off the pages and makes her and Thibault's dynamic relationship an interesting read.

I have been following Elle Casey for quite some time now. I love this author and she writes amazing books. This one seemed a bit different from her other books. I felt a bit more serious, and maybe a little more outlandish than the past ones. It still had the comedy, the sweet moments, and the serious moments. I liked it, but not as much as her other books.

OH MAN!

Mika Cleary has had a tough life. Her parents are both criminals, thus forcing her grandmother to care for her. And when she passed, Mika was all on her own. Desperate to provide for herself, she got mixed up with a Russian mafia boss! She was trapped in a scary and sticky situation when fate stepped in and literally hit her with her superman. Or rather – she hit him.

Thibault Delacroix, the last single member of the Bourbon Street Boys, took a wrong turn in the right direction. (See what I did there?) When, BAM, he was hit by some crazy woman going the wrong direction down a one way street. After a shocking surprise, Elle Casey style, Thibault can’t abandon Mika to deal with her crazy situation all on her own. He catches a lot of grieve from the team because Mika trusts no one, and they think he is in over his head – both in trouble and in love.

I really wanted to give this story a better rating, but I just couldn’t. Elle Casey knows how to write and take the reader on a wild ride – no arguments there. However, it was rushed at the important parts and dragged out in other parts. The first 10% of the book was great. It was wonderfully written and left me wanting more. As the book went on, it slowed down quite a bit but I was still enjoying it. The frustrating part, for me, was the ending. It felt extremely rushed and left a few things open-ended. A very, very bad pet-peeve of mine. For example, there is a chapter towards the end of the book that it two pages long. TWO! I mean, really?

Also, I know this book is all about Mika and Thibault but it is – to my knowledge – the last of the Bourbon Street Boys, so could we have not gotten an epilogue or something. There were things brought up, such as kids, which I would have loved to gotten some insight on. To me, this book already felt like it didn’t quite follow the flow of the other books. It was kind of the black sheep of the series. So to not to have any details on the team as a whole was quite frustrating to me.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a good book. I am just so invested in the team that I was upset that this didn’t wrap up the series in the way I needed it too. Maybe Mrs. Casey left things open-ended for a reason. There is a new team member, as Thibault mentioned briefly, so maybe we will see the gang again.

I still recommend this series to anyone who likes a good witty romance read. It is a story that will stick with you. I know I will be thinking of the gang for a while, and I might have to even go back and visit them soon. 

So far its been Ozzie & May, Dev & Jenny, Lucky & Toni and Thibault. Now that the left out Thibault also gets a partner under very abnormal circumstances (Mika). May and Jenny are pregnant again. 4 couples with more than half a dozen of children, they all lived happily ever after..............!

I've been a big fan of this series but sadly this book didn't work for me. I had a hard time connecting to either character, didn't feel their connection and the ending was lackluster and seemed rushed. I was expecting more drama in this book given the circumstances but it didn't happen. Plus certain parts of the story didn't seem believable at all. I found myself shaking my head a few times like really?? It was nice to catch up with some of the other couples from the previous books.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous books in the series. It fell a little short for me and I'm not sure why.

Its quite cute, quite sweet and a little bit more interesting with the mafia involved but it just didn't make me hang onto the edge of my seat waiting for it to resolve or waiting for either of them to fall for each other.

I felt chemistry at the beginning but not in the end and I was bored during the last chapter.

This was an enjoyable and sweet story that drew me in from the start. It was certainly easy to read and it kept me engaged throughout and having not read any of the previous stories in the series. I never once felt like I was missing out. I also liked both main characters as well as the Bourbon Street Boys team and I would definitely go back and read the previous stories. As for this story I thought it was good, a little light on the romance and sex for me personally and I was expecting more suspense if I'm honest but I did enjoy what there was and I would happily recommend this story to others.
