This series went a little downhill for me. While it was interesting and I was glad the plot didn't repeat like it did in the second book, I just wasn't attached to the new characters at all and didn't care. I also felt like the explanation for the entire situation was half-assed--like what took them from the last battle to that day in court. It just wasn't satisfying enough for me, being a one-line explanation. All in all, I love this series and the original characters, but the sequels were both disappointing.

That was such a satisfying ending to an amazingly unique trilogy! Highly recommend!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. This was probably the best finale I could have asked for and I'm grateful that I'll have a positive view on the series. I was getting concerned towards the end that beloved characters would die but the authors gave a best-case scenario conclusion.

Ezra and Kady are together.
Nik and Hanna are together.
Katya (the cleverest mouse; little girl) is alive.
Ella is okay.
AIDAN is... in existence?
BeiTech Industry was found guilty.
And they all lived happily ever after.

I finished this book less than five minutes ago so I'm still overwhelmed with emotions.

My favorite part was AIDAN saying:
And together, they walk toward their distant shore.
Some place fine and far from here.

I watch them go.

My heart broke for him and I nearly cried because it was such a bittersweet moment.

Speaking of AIDAN, I could tell easily in Gemina that he was falling in love with Kady. It had been obvious since the first book because every time he would display emotion that a computer technically shouldn't have, he would . It was kind of uncomfortable to hear him tell her he loved her though. I did, however, LOVE how AIDAN kept downplaying his humanity by saying someone needed to be the bad guy.

I know very little else save perhaps this:
that every story needs its monster
and that everybody deserves a second chance
and that I
am
AIDAN

I had chills listening to that!

I just need this trilogy to be a high-budget movie or HBO show. That's all. I loved it so much and it's definitely one of my new favorites. 10/10

While perhaps tied up a bit too neatly for some people's tastes, I was wholly satisfied with how everything in this book - and ultimately the series - went down. I'll admit that I wasn't as involved with Asha and Rhys' relationship as I was with our previous two couples, but the drama down on Kerenza kept me interested and involved in the story, even when I wanted to be back up in space with the other five characters (six if we count Aidan, which I definitely do) we came to know and love. I'm so sad this series is over! I loved every single second of it, and know it will definitely be one I revisit from time to time.

Was not my favorite out of the three, but it was still an entertaining read.

Without giving too much away, overall I enjoyed the story arch. Knowing what we know about Illuminae and Gemmina we knew that things were going to go down in Obsidio, and they did.

The two things stopping me from giving this a 5 star rating was:

1.There were two similar "twists" (trying not to use the actual phrase, because spoilers).

2. The group of teens in this story are always so very snarky(I know that's their thing, but still). The only times they were not snarky was when they were being "romantic". And even then there was plenty of snark. I feel like they should have had more real teen moments. Where they weren't the heros and they f-ed up, or something.

I love all of the time, effort, and research that the authors put into this and I cannot wait tho read the next series that they are planning on releasing.

Welp… that was terrific. I havem't gotten that emotional about a book in quite a while. The romantic scenes are just so perfect and everything turns out ok and I am ALWAYS ok with an overall happy ending.

I don’t think I can rave about this series enough to satisfy me! Wow, what an amazing ending to an incredible series! I absolutely loved getting to see all of the characters from the first two books interacting in the last one. It was like having your friends meet for the first time and loving each other as much as you love them

3.75 - A great end to a great series. Obsidio continues the story in a satisfying and exciting way, I really enjoyed the blurring between the different 'good' and 'bad' in this story - as we're given more insight into the tough decisions characters must make with the threat of annihilation hanging over them. Love how it plays around with format as always. A fun YA read.

Every story needs its hero. And its villain. And it’s monster.

The die is cast. But today we will shake the table upon which it lands.

And may we meet again on distant shores.

Nik, are you still wearing that ****ing parachute?"
"Maybe..."
"You know you're going to be flying in space, right...?
