**I received a copy of Her Outback Surprise from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

What do you do when your heart is broken because the man you love decided to stay and pursue the next big story line and you had to go back to Australia? You pick up the pieces and start a new life in the Outback town of Prickle Creek.

Angie Edmonds worked very hard to become a veterinarian and when the local vet retires, she buys his practice. Little does she know that the man who broke her heart also lives in Prickle Creek

Liam Smythe was a reporter with a London newspaper but with the internet quickly closing the newspapers he wonders how long he'll have a job. When his Gran called and asked him to come home he didn't hesitate to return to Prickle Creek not knowing that his lost love with Angie also lives there. He regrets putting his career first and letting Angie get away. So when a injured puppy shows up at the farm he decides to take it into town to see the vet. Will Angie be able to guard her heart this time when Lucy decides to play matchmaker for both her cousin Liam and Angie?

There are some funny moments when Lucy convinces both Liam and Angie to help out with the local fair but it'd Willow the puppy that has the cute duty of getting these two adults together again.

It's an interesting contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed reading it. All the characters are good too. Although the ending was kind of anti-climatic but overall it's a good read. Anyone who enjoys a good second chance contemporary romance will surely like this book.

Liam and Angie met in London. They were together for sometimes but then Angie's visa expired and she had to move back to Australia. Liam never tried to stop her or offered to move back with her. He also didn't try very hard to keep in touch. Angie was in love with him and that hurt her big time. But now she has moved on. She is happy with her small town life and things are going good. Until she meets him once again....

Liam never expected to meet Angie in his home town. But now that they have met it seems like staying apart will take too much effort. But they must stay away from each other because there is no way any kind of relationship will work. Firstly, due to the fact that Angie has moved on. Secondly and most importantly this time Liam isn't here to stay....

So will they ever be able to clear the air and confess everything to each other. Or maybe they will just ignore their feelings and let things wither with time.

The story is enjoyable. I liked it a lot and would recommend to my friends who love contemporary romances, especially regarding second chances, small towns, and close families.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, but at the same time parts of the storyline seemed to drag on. Angie and Liam keep circling around each other but it takes them so long to get down to the truth of how they both feel.

I liked Lucy as a secondary character and the town fair and the way it all worked was very typical of Aussie outback/rural places and character.

I just felt like it took a bit too long to get to the heart of things between Liam and Angie. They were both bullheaded and I don't know, it just took too long.

I did enjoy the story particularly the last 20% though, and I wouldn't say no to reading more of the series. I just didn't enjoy this as much as other books I have read, but I did enjoy it to a degree.

Her Outback Surprise is a sweet, second-chance romance set in--you guessed, it--the Australian Outback. It's second in its series, but if you haven't read the first book yet ([b:Her Outback Cowboy|35060375|Her Outback Cowboy|Annie Seaton|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1495189443s/35060375.jpg|56352878]) no worries; the bits you absolutely need to know about it are explained here too (why Liam and his cousins come back to the family farm, and what their plans for the future are, more or less) though the fact that this is the second book does make for a somewhat awkward start to this one with a bit of jumping around time-wise.

Overall I liked Angie and Liam, and it wasn't hard to root for them to (finally!) be together in the end. The flashback bits felt a bit superfluous, though (especially since their important bits were usually recapped through a character's thoughts and/or conversation a minute or two after) and this was definitely an example of a story whose main conflict could have been resolved with one decent conversation between the MCs, which was definitely frustrating. Liam especially was guilty of being exceptionally dense for about 90% of the book, and Angie tended toward the wishy-washy side of the spectrum more often than I would have liked--still, this was a pleasant way to spend a cozy fall afternoon reading.

Plus, there was a cute puppy and a newborn baby in the mix, so--win-win! :)

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Pickle Creek series and it features Liam and Angie. This second chance romance takes us back to Gran and Pop's cattle and wheat farm. Liam lets her go once but will he really let it happen a second time? Liam is a selfish man. Angie couldn't be any less selfish. I think it's the old saying, "you don't know what you have until it's gone." The story line was great but a tiny bit more romance between these two would have been even better. I felt the intense attraction from Angie towards Liam but not from him towards her.

This fabulous story set in the outback of New South Wales is again, set up perfectly. I can see the flowing wheat fields, the dirt roads and the dusty utes. This author does an AMAZING job at making you feel like you're standing in the scene watching it happen. I look forward to whatever comes next for Annie Seaton.
