idk it was like white white white American lesbianism.
Idk some things were self explanatory and I COULDNT HELP BUT WONDER, maybe not everyone is meant to write about something just bc they classify under that branch of identity. This was literally a pg 13 but some sexual themes added description about being a lesbian. I understand this is a column but can’t you leave it at that? Why make it into a book? I was really hopeful someone finally made a book going through all the bits and pieces that make up a queer identity. Yes we are individuals but we are shaped by our environment u gotta factor that in. It was also confusing to me why there was such little emphasis put on the queer spaces that created the individual.

A fine book for young queer women. Didn’t really cover any of the self-discovery aspects that I was hoping to see for the questioning woman, more of a “You’re Gay, Now What?” kind of guide.

This was a good guidebook that covers a lot of topics for queer people, centered on queer women. It definitely felt more like an advice column (so nothing groundbreaking), but it was nice to be the main focus.

A 3.75, rounded.
I thought this was a really good book, but that's in big part because I saw myself represented (there was a whole section on bisexuality!) But I think a lot was missing. I understand the author is a white cis bisexual woman but she could have hired some folks to write selections about queer women who aren't white, who are disabled, fat, asexual, etc. because their queer experience comes with additional considerations when navigating relationships and sexuality.

This book could be for someone, but was certainly not for me. I bought it on sale during pride month as a pride themed read that would be quick and easy. Only it was such a drag to me that it took nearly 2 months for me to complete. I could see it as a helpful guide to some chick out there, but most of it is basic stuff. I dont know what else, just not for me at all.

This book was....meh. Maybe because I got it thinking it was going to go into more of the subculture, or answer the questions that I had. However, it did have its humor, so that was a good point. The format was more of an "Ask ___" with responses and it didn't flow like a regular book would.
I would, however, recommend it for anyone to read so that they could have a little fun as well as learning more about a particular group of women (not to generalize, but).
