Aburrido e irritante. Una decepción.

I loved the movie, so I thought, “why not?”
This book was really fun and gave a new side to the characters. One thing I never saw coming was the sheer amount of typing errors. There was easily 2 per page! Very disappointing from a Disney publishing company, but I would still recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the movie.

Cute in many ways but a bit immature. Then I found out this was written for a made-for-tv disney movie. Well that explained some of that. It was interesting to see now these kids aren't as bad as they think. Naughty and mischievous sure but far from evil. But their mentors seem to be no help. Failures and those that have given up. It was rather amusing. There was a bit more depth and growth than expected. How Auradon was falling apart with the sidekicks baffled me. How self-centered had everyone gotten? They and Ben's girl could apparently give the Evil Queen & Cruella a run in selfishness.

The lack of info on the other parent drove me crazy! Not okay! But I think that was Disney's call so I can't blame the author but I can blame the story.

This book was amazing. The whole story was wonderfully developed & written. The look into each of the lives of the children of 4 of Disney's most iconic villains is deep & interesting, & also very relate-able. The coolest part for me was being able to read the book & immediately watch the movie. The movie picks up right where the book ends no gap at all.

I feel like this book was stuck between the YA and Children's genres.
I am aware the book is a companion to a Disney Channel movie, so the story isn't going to be particularly sophisticated. But the characters were supposedly 16 years old, and yet they were not portrayed realistically for their age.
However, I did love the concept of this book and I believe the plot line was executed wonderfully. The book had its flaws, but I enjoyed it enough to give it 3/5 stars.

I love Disney movie Descendents and this book made me love them more. It's really cool and will love to read more about this awesome and unique characters.

This book was far from bad; in fact, I was debating between a two- or three-star review for it, but in the end, I decided to go with a two-star because of the pacing.

Honestly, it took longer than I would have liked to get to the point of actually finding the Dragon's Eye, and I think it would've been cooler to see more of a struggle to get to the Forbidden Fortress, where Maleficent had hidden the scepter.

I am, however, a pretty big fan of the Descendants franchise; the first movie came out when I was thirteen, and I loved everything about the movie, so it was really fun to get to revisit these characters with new content and understand more about how they operated before the series and became friends.

Overall, this was definitely a good book; it just followed a pace that didn't appeal to me as a reader, but I absolutely plan on reading the rest of the novels and can't wait to see what goes on between the movies in the lives of these four.
