Gracie's (h) life takes a disastrous turn when she catches her fiancé in a compromising position under the Christmas tree with her sister, Kelly, on Christmas Eve hours before their wedding. Swapping sugar and spice for revenge, Gracie turns to the North Pole and recruits tattooed bad-boy elf Hudson (H) to become her partner in crime and turn her sister's wedding into a festive fiasco. Gracie and Hudson navigate a fake relationship that takes an unexpectedly steamy turn amidst unpredictable twists, outrageous family dynamics, and a hefty dose of holiday humor. The chemistry between Gracie and Hudson sizzles, and their banter keeps things moving. Gracie evolves from a pushover to a woman who stands up for herself, no longer being the perennial nice girl but instead a woman who takes charge of her life. The dysfunctional family dynamics, with Granny Murray and Pugnog, add an extra layer of cray-cray, making it impossible not to laugh at the absurdity of it all. Sweet and spicy romance with plenty of family madness, revenge plots, unexpected love, laughs, and a touch of Christmas chaos.
It's a Christmas miracle that I was even able to finish this book, honestly. The heroine is an absolute nightmare of a doormat to a degree that is absolutely infuriating. The hero is an inappropriate weirdo dick in a way that wasn't the least bit sexy to me and doesn't feel redeemed at all in the end. And the "love story" is basically just instalove bolstered by the kind of abrupt, inappropriately timed dirty talk that would make my skin crawl in real life. Honestly, I don't think dirty talk in a book has ever made my skin crawl as much as this one. Don't even get me started on the cartoonishly horrible and cruel secondary characters. In the context of a romcom, the level of abusive that the heroine's family was to her was genuinely uncomfortable and not even a little bit funny and also never really explained for any kind of realism. Just awful.
I really liked the premise for this story, but the more I think about the execution, the more I wish I hadn't wasted my time reading it. Probably the worst book I actually finished this year. I was going to give it 2 stars because I finished it, but upon reflection I've decided that I hated this too much for more than 1 star.

Woof, that was a rough one. First off, this book did not need to be OVER 500 pages, the repetition was exhausting. I have never read a more spineless walked over FMC. Her family treated her like garbage for years and she didn’t stand up for herself until the last 75 pages of the book. The spice was cringe, the MMC while brooding and attractive was exhausting with his inner monologue and the whole story felt like it was slapped together. Chapters, thoughts and the story progression was soooo choppy I found myself pushing through just to say I finished it. It had a lot of potential and a fun plot but the execution was ROUGH.

I just found this story unbelievable. The fact that Gracie’s family was so selfish and used her and blamed her for everything just seemed so out there. I enjoyed Gracie and Hudson’s story, but the overall plot was just so ridiculous and unbelievable.
The main character was a doormat, and every other character I despised. The relationship was too toxic for me
This was an ULTRA dramatic, SUPER spicy, dual POV, fake dating holiday romance that sees Gracie hiring a fake date to help her get revenge on her cheating ex who is newly engaged to her sister. Over the top hijinks plus a super unrelatable virgin FMC make this a bit of a hard book to swallow but if you just want some mindless Christmas smut it definitely delivers. Pretty good on audio, I would have liked more character depth but it was a HOT listen nevertheless and sometimes that's all you're in the mood for.

I don't know what I read.
But I loved it.
I laughed so hard -Gracie's family and some of the comments thrown out there KILLED ME.
Gracie is a pushover. She hires Hudson to help her get revenge on her sister (who is a terrible human being) - only doesn't count on his brand of help.
Hudson - is on a mission to get some information out of Gracie, only can't just ask... so while he is helping her get back at her ex and sister by getting in her pants - he's also trying to get into her laptop.
This was ... slightly ridiculous. And by slightly, I mean 100% totally.
BUT - I was 100% entertained the entire time. The banter, the chemistry, the spot on snark. Grandma Murray alone is pure comedic gold. All great. Random scenes that probably weren't necessary were still great. I mean this is a book that was TOO MUCH and yet just right at the same time.
I could not stop giggling.
This is a Christmas book full of smut (honestly - if the words cock and pussy bother you - you should not read this, because some of their dirty talk is a little much (seriously, I don't know anyone who would say what Gracie says half as much as she does) - but still entertaining.
This is perfect escapism and entertainment if romantic hijinks is your jam. It seems to be mine.
Highly recommend.
