This was a fast read, but not at all a easy one, she has gone through so much, but really doesn’t delve much, specially on her childhood, she is very matter of fact about everything, which makes it even sadder for me, in a way, I did get teary during the time she was under the conservatorship, she was so alone and used by everyone.
And she wasn’t even out to get anyone, again she just told her story, from her point of view.
I liked to how she mentioned people who she admires and look up to, like Reese Witherspoon, but the best was when she called Jennifer Lopez so smart and poised and then said well this guy the complete opposite.

I decided to delve into the audio book world for this one, because I heard Michelle Williams was great. She did not disappoint. The writing in this book was rather cringe-worthy and I don't think it would have been as engaging as hearing Williams and her "fo shiz, fo shiz!"
I know there are two sides to every story, but it's hard not to be shocked and truly empathetic with Britney's side. The fear and gaslighting that went on for years is truly horrible. Stories like this keep reminding me, I never want to be famous.

This was way to fast paced, way to superficial and way to referential to have any real value.
Britney doesn't really tell her story, she tells what everybody already knows and adds a few explanatory notes. There is no reflection on past events or her own part in... anything. Everything good that happens is her idea/hard work and everything that goes wrong is someone else fault/evil scheme.
Don't get me wrong - she was treated horrifically - but life is never as black and white as Britney will have us believe.
I think Britney should have waited a couple of years to get on her feet and get son distance/ perspective before even starting a book like this - unlike this, that could have been an interesting read!
