Dark, violent and full of action and mystery. This book completely fulfilled my need for a kick butt FMC and a good revenge. I also really like that she is older than the guys, it’s a nice change.

Right away you’re completely drawn into the story, how can you not when she’s in the middle of showing a very bad guy who’s boss? I love Viola, I just want to know all about her. We do get a little insight into her past and I can’t wait to learn more.

We learned a bit about the guys in this book, hopefully we’re learn more in book 2. This just seemed like a bit of an introduction to them and you didn’t learn much.

I feel like the ending just left me wanting way more. I literally said, “wait, it’s done?!” Need book 2 ASAP.

wow, if this isn't fetishizing at it's worst. She's half Asian but she only got the features of that heritage that made her "look like a little girl" while still being fabulously blonde with SLLiiiiiiiightly kinky eyes, but they're like, "upturned" and stuff ya' know? Puh-leaz.

A history of Violence
By Mallory Fox
Narrated by Hannah Hedley and Lucas Webley

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars (book)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars (audio)

Y’all this book, it’s crazy y’all! I’m gonna say it’s way, way out of my typical reads.. BUT y’all this mess was wild! Mallory Fox does not disappoint! This chick knows how to write and will keep you on your toes! Talk about fast paced and NEVER a dull moment. Straight out the gate I was like, No way did that just happen!!

The twists and turns of this book will keep you guessing! You never know what’s going to happen next. Viola the FMC, that heifer is CRAZY, unhinged! You wouldn’t want to come up on her in a dark alley. There’s lots of trigger warnings in here, mainly because of Viola, lol. I cannot wait to see where this story goes with all her men, it ends on a bit of a hanger and makes you wonder what could possibly happen next!

The audiobook, Hannah Hedley and Lucas Webley were fantastic! They deliver a spectacular performance with all kinds of emotion that will keep you gripped to the fast paced storyline. With he cliffhanger ending, you will be wanting to binge this series.

Such a good dark RH. I originally read it in the violent tendencies anthology and loved it! Glad I can have it in a stand-alone.

A History of Violence by Mallory Fox is another book in the Violent Tendencies anthology. This book is about Viola and Lorcan.

Viola is a hired assassin, and her mark is Lorcan. She goes undercover at his school, and tries to get as much intel on him before ending him.

However as the book goes on she starts to have feelings for him. She has never fallen for a mark before, and it is throwing off her game.

As she is watching Lorcan she realizes not everything is as it seems. There are secrets in the mix.

This book was great. I was hooked and couldn't put it down. So many things ended up happening that I wasn't expecting.

"I can't fuck them, or else I'll be worse than the men I kill" - FMC says while fucking them.
I just don't understand why she had to be 23 and them 18. It's plain disgusting. Couldn't they have been at university? What is it with dark romance authors wanting their books to be filled with teenagers?!!

ALC Review:

This is narrated in duet style, for all you duet lovers! I’ll begin my review with my comments regarding the narration. I absolutely loved Lucas’s narration. I will definitely listen to an audiobook with him in it again. I occasionally struggled with Hannah’s narration because her enunciation felt a bit more pronounced than what I’m used to. I don’t know how to describe it, but something about it didn’t quite work as well for me as I had hoped. I specifically struggled when she said the words “says” and “Jude.”

The story itself was interesting. The plot of the story was pretty intriguing and I enjoyed the cast of characters introduced in this book. I didn’t really connect with the character, Viola. I was hoping to get more of her backstory because unemotional FMC’s are sometimes hard for me to connect to. If I had had her backstory, it might have helped. Regardless, I do feel like this is a good listen, and I do recommend it. This story ends on a cliffy, FYI!

Thank you to Valentine PR and Mallory Fox for the ALC.

A History of Violence by Mallory Fox is a dark reverse harem serial killer bully romance. This is the first book in A Violent Agenda series.

The book comes with a Publisher Note: "A History of Violence is a dark RH serial killer bully romance, intended for mature readers, containing material that some may find triggering or offensive."

This is the first book of Mallory's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I love the chemistry between Viola, Lorcan, Dino, and Jude. I really enjoyed getting Viola, Dino, Lorcan, Jude, Arora, and Dante's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on a cliffhanger but that wasn't a surprise since it's the first book in the series. I can't wait for the next book in the series A Legacy of Sorrow to be released on August 31, 2021 so I can get more of Viola and her men.

I would recommend the book if you like dark romances, reverse harem romances, serial killer romances, assassin romances, or bully romances.
