DNF @ 51% … I wanted to love this book, and I know I could’ve but it just flopped halfway through for me. I feel like it had so much potential but just didn’t live up to what I was hoping it would be.

I did not like the audio version of this book. I couldn’t even get 30 minutes into the book. It’s not the story but the narrator that I couldn’t listen to. I will try this in kindle version instead.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The story line totally intrigued me I read this bad boy all in one sitting. There was push and pull, hotness and you could feel the struggle between them. I thought it ended in a great place, absolutely happy with the outcome. I need to check out some more books by this author!
"I was never, in all my life, going to forget that man. My incredible first lover. My beautiful Theodore. My loveable Mr. Black.”
I really wanted to rate this one higher but I couldn’t. Basically, it started off so strong but fell a bit flat about 70% into the book.
I love taboo romance and even with ALL the flaws, it was still an okay read. I liked Chloe and Theo together. The chemistry between them was off the charts. The sexy scenes between them were great and they honestly seem to connect and get along well.
However if you didn’t tell me that Theo was an older man, I wouldn’t have known. He didn’t really come off as someone who was in his 40s. Chloe was said to be mature for her age but I didn't get that from her character. Honestly, Theo and Chloe seriously acted the exact same way, childish at times and jumped to conclusions often.
Now, I was so not okay with that ending. I’m not going to say too much about it but it just didn’t give me the satisfaction that I wanted. Was it a realistic ending? Yes, but damn, I wanted so much more.
I did see that this was a duet and honestly, I don’t think I can get my emotions together to read another book about them just to get disappointed again in the end. Just sayin’.

I absolutely love Chloe and Theo. The supporting cast are all well developed characters. The setup was good but the drama was over the top IMO. I know this is fiction but the level of drama made this book less realistic and less relatable.
seriously very bad. childish.
Trying to fit into the simplistic template.
There is zero magic.
I listened to the audio, the narrator is awful.
