As always, Nicholas Sparks is phenomenal. The characters are believable and the reader is engrossed in a whole new world, a lovely love story.

I often find that I tell myself I’m not a Nicholas Sparks fan but then somehow pick up a book of his and read it. I get sucked in immediately and by the end, I’m always irritated. Sparks writes good stuff, I will never say he doesn’t, but I hate that after a screw up is made in the storyline with characters, by the time it’s turned around... the books ending. I want more, I’m greedy. I’m confident I’m not the only one though.

A great read. You fall in love with Kyle feel sorry for Taylor and love Denise and her struggle to care for her son and heart at the same time. I love this story its predictable if you read Nicholas Sparks but still a great read.

I would have changed a couple of things, and the conclusion was a little too quick/pat, but overall a decent read

I have enjoyed Nicholas Sparks movies and books for many years. When I read the back of the book, it sparked my interest when I read about the child having learning disabilities and wanting to know more how that would be depicted. As I read this book, I read it a lot through the lens of my career as a speech language pathologist. So many thoughts: the feelings of a parent (let alone a single parent) of a child with different needs especially related to communication, how others observe others and their differences, behavior interventions. Though some of the methods I don’t necessarily agree with, I think it was heartwarming to see how involved Denise was with her son. It was nice to have a shoutout to the things involved in communication and speech therapy in a story. Also, who could pass up a story about a firefighter.
