take a drink every time he says blue eyes. And the dialogue omg.

Major Trigger Warnings.

Great Start, Predictable Ending

Trigger Warning for rape and child abuse.

Overall story was okay. The "romance" was just a lot of sex. Cliff hanger ending. I don't see myself picking up the next one, but only time will tell.

3.5

I really really didn't like this book. I know there are 2 more books and the story is supposed to last but there was very little character development and plot in this one. It was basically one sex scene after another between 2 people that I didn't care about because I hardly got to know them. I also felt that the sexual dialogue was completely ridiculous!! Who talks that way? Now I'm in the middle of a conundrum, Jade was left hanging and I want to know Talon's story so do I spend more money on the other 2 books or just forget about it?

If you're looking for a story with drama, romance, plot twists, tension and some very spicy scenes this is the book for you

The beginning of Talon and Jade: A great start to a tumultuous relationship. Talon has a very traumatic past and is still dealing with it into his adulthood. Actually, I don't think he's dealing with it at all and that's where Jade comes it. She makes him feel and while he can't stay away from her he sure wants too. He just believes he is defined by that traumatic event and life can't be more for him.

There is sensitive material due to his trauma that is not easy to read. I hate that he went through what he did, but I am all for seeing him find a woman who will make life worth living for him.

This first book is aptly named. Jade seems to be a craving for Talon but there can be so much more and we just get a taste of that in this first book. I liked these characters and will continue onto the next book to see that this couple gets their happily ever after.

I read Craving, like many others, after seeing a Facebook ad claiming it's better than Fifty Shades, which I actually liked. It also has a high average rating. (I made so many judgement errors here..)

Zero storyline
Zero character development
Zero connection
Zero believable passion with zero build-up
Zero relationship progression
Repetitive writing: ex) granite, walls, demons, white tank top, slammed. The same descriptions were used over, and over.
Talon Steel? It's hard to take that name seriously.
Even Jade's ex fiancé stares at her chest before speaking to her? Snooze. Ok. She has big boobs.

The twist (abuse) was too much tragedy, description, and detail for a character that is underdeveloped - it led me to believe it was there for shock value.

As always, a consensual relationship is one thing (do what you and your partner want), but I hate glorification of the "poor male" who was abused, so he can do whatever he wants to the doormat female.
(grab violently, yell, rape, etc.)

No.

Pop Sugar reading challenge "A book with a one word title."

Good, easy read. Suspense and likable characters.

Interesting book from page 1. Full of suspense. Definitely need to keep reading these books since book 1 completely stops with no ending.

Craving by Helen Hardt was such a fantastic read! Once I started I couldn't put it down! I do love me some dark reads and this book had some dark elements to it.

Jade is starting over in Colorado. Her best friend, Marjorie invited her to stay at her family's ranch. It felt right. She needed this. Then she meets Talon. He's one of Marj's brother, one she hadn't met before. Talon is a man of few words. He's also very attractive and Jade couldn't deny that.
Talon doesn't need any complications or distractions and Jade is definitely just that. There is something about her that calls to him. The two no longer fight their attraction but Talon struggles with his new feelings and his past.

Wow. What a read! This book had everything! The author did a great job on both the story and the characters. It had suspense, love, secrets, and some really hot sexy time. I wanted me some Talon *fans self* I did feel it took a bit long for certain stuff to be revealed. I get there has to be a build up but I felt it could have happened a lot sooner. Helen Hardt is a new to me author and I look forward to reading more from her. I can't wait for the next book! I need it now! I give this 5 stars!
