I feel almost generous giving this book two stars.
I almost feel like I’ve read this before...nothing too original about it. I felt that this was like the country/rancher version of the Crossfire series (Sylvia Day).

There was way too much sex happening. I mean I think they had sex like four times within less than 6 hours; and I had to read each one...? Not necessary. If you took every sex scene out, the book would have to be less than 50 pages. Ridiculous.
I mean, I’m all for some sexy time but I don’t have to read every single time. And it’s unrealistic for them to go back to back to back to back to back. Give me a break!

I think the biggest thing that annoyed me was the language used. Not like foul language but the vocabulary. I don’t know about you but nothing ruins the mood quite like the word “anus.”

I love this book

I love this book and I can't wait to see what happens next And to continue with the series But it will probably take me on because There are a lot of books in the series

There was so much wrong with this book, I'm not even sure where to begin. This was unrealistic, tonally confusing, and just straight-up concerning. There were some really dark themes in this book and I don't think they were handled with the care it deserved. I hate to get into the nitty-gritty straight out the gate but here's how it went:
Talon was kidnapped and raped when he was a young boy which is incredibly devastating. However, throughout this book, we see how violent and toxic Talon is. Now, a lot of this is probably "justified" because of his trauma but I just can't accept that, especially when he's being pushed as the love interest. Speaking of, some of his violence is directed toward Jade. At no point does he hit her but, mostly during their intimate scenes, he's very forceful. Hell, at one point she literally has to slap him for him to stop because he's making her uncomfortable. And yet, at no point is this really condemned - he's forgiven straight away and doesn't even acknowledge that he's done anything wrong. I'm sorry but that really crosses the line.

Apologies for the tirade, my point is that I don't think this book was equipped to deal with what it did. I'm just unsure what the author's intentions were with this, it was all very odd. That boy needed therapy, NOT the military.

Our other main character, Jade, wasn't particularly interesting or likeable. She was constantly chasing Talon for seemingly no reason - the silly insta-love was just too much. I think she could have been fleshed out better because she did have potential: she was a jilted bride, the daughter to a famous, deadbeat mother and seemingly lived paycheque-to-paycheque when she was younger (although this also wasn't portrayed well).

Overall, this really just wasn't the one for me. For the most part, it was just fine. I didn't particularly like what I was reading but it managed to keep my attention. However, it was at around the 80% mark when I decided things had gone too far and it felt immoral to rate this anything over 1.5 Stars.

I think it's clear to see that I will not carry on with this series.

Not bad, well written. It could’ve used more romance between the two love interests and less hanky panky, but I enjoyed it and will be going on to the second book!

Not to sound dramatic but this book had some of the most unbearable characters. Not worth it. I only finished the book to figure out what would happen. Wasted my time because you leave off on a cliffhanger. Not my kind of book

You must read all the books in order in the Steel bros trilogy. I loved Jade and Talon's story.

OK, this is a "chick lit" book and it's quite explicit. I do enjoy sex scenes in the book but I had to take one (more like one-and-a-half) star away for [a:Helen Hardt|2993356|Helen Hardt|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1596665798p2/2993356.jpg] getting so carried away with that and making the sex dialogue so cliche. Also, quite frankly, I think there is such a thing as too much sex. Anyway, I did find the main story line interesting and the characters well written. I do want to know what happens next with Talon and Jade and whether justice will be served, so I plan to read at least the first three books in this long series.

Well, well, well...

Not my usual choice of a night time read but holy F.

Fun!

It was ok. I think this book had some potential but the writing style wasn’t my favorite. Talon’s past is revealed slowly throughout the book and you know he endured something horrible. He’s never dealt with it, so he’s kind of an ass. Jade seems to be the only one who gets through to him but I didn’t really feel anything more than a sexual connection between them. The ending is intriguing though... So many people I know love this series. Maybe the story builds and gets better as it goes... 🤷🏽‍♀️ I might give book 2 a try.
