Book 3 in the Green Creek series follows Robbie & Kelly, who we meet in the previous books. This series must be read in order as there is an overarching story running throughout. This review will contain as little reference to the actual story as possible so as not to spoil anything and mainly be the overall vibes I had/was left with.
This is my first 5⭐️ read of 2025. I read books one and two last year and adored them, and this is no different. The journey these characters go on will put you through the wringer. The initial few chapters... when I realised what was actually going on, I was shocked, and it's rare a book does that to me, and I loved it.
Robbie & Kelly go through SO much in this book, as do the rest of the Bennet Pack and team human, there were times I was genuinely anxious to turn the page/carry on listening to see what was going to happen next. The connection all of these characters have feels tangible to me as I read/listen to these books. The found family vibes are STRONG, and the overall story is so beautifully written with plenty of heartwarming and heartbreaking parts woven throughout. The plot outside of the romance moves at a good pace, and there is enough action happening to keep the story moving forward. The ACE rep was done well, and the very brief spicy scene was just right for these characters and this story. This book made my face leak at one point and I voice noted a friend expressing my anxiety about what was going to happen, its rare a book gives me that kind of visceral reaction and i love it when it happens.
Kirt Graves was once again incredible in his perfomance, there is something about his delivery of the material that has it and the characters burrowing into my heart. I can't wait to see where the final book will take this story but I also don't want this series to be over yet either so I'm going to wait as long as my mood reading ass possibly can before diving into it. #packpackpack
"I wanted a pack who loved me. Who trusted me. Who never wanted to let me go. Who missed me when I was gone. Who thought about me and smiled. I wanted a home."
"I see you. For all that you are. For all that you're not. And I never want to lose sight of you again."

Not as good as the previous books in the series, took too long to get to the reveal of what was really going on
This was my favorite book so far and 50% of it was because it totally avoiding any young wolf imprinting business by having all characters as adults. I loved the ace representation, even though it wasn't really """important""" to the story the way it was set. Basically, they're half-strangers and aren't going to be taking that step ANYWAY, but Kelly's identity is still respected when discussed and especially when shown in the past and near the conclusion
I was confused for the first 30% regardingthe timeline and whether the beginning takes place before book 2 or after

This is definitely my favorite in the series so far. I loved how much focus was on the overarching plot, and I really enjoyed that Robbie’s issues didn’t stem from being abandoned by the Bennett pack, which books 1&2 heavily examined. There were two minor things that bothered me, both of which didn’t actually contribute to the main story, but it is why this book doesn’t get 5 stars. First, it bothered me that Carter is made out to be some kind of an idiot. How does he get to be mayor, but doesn’t understand that the Timberwolf is his mate? Also, how does he not know this after 13+ months of this mysterious wolf just living with them?? His entire family is cool with this complete stranger living with them, but no one tells him/he doesn’t figure it out? Bffr. Also, Rico getting to live annoyed me. I love Rico, but the cop-out of saving humans by turning them into werewolves had been over done. His sacrifice would have been so much more impactful if he had truly died.
3.5 rounded down
I did cry a lot in this book. It’s been kind of special to follow the same characters for so long. That being said, there are a few serious flaws in this one that makes it worse than the others
- First lesbians in the book series, a full pack of them, and TJ kills them off in the next 10 pages
- When describing what people look like, he only describes the race of those who are black
- Another seen where two women are kissing and a man makes an inappropriate sexual remark about them. Really TJ? Coming from an author who aims to avoid queer trauma this was a big miss
- If I have to hear Ox say that his daddy said he was “going to get shit all his life” one more time I will scream
