I loved this, but also the introduction of who the next couple will be made me SO GODDAMN excited for book 8 that I really feel bad. It's honestly because I had 0 expectations for either of them getting a book for some reason and now I'm super duper hype. I honestly craved them more than Locke/Nashe/Orla and was alllll in with the little bits and teases we got.

Every single time a new Rebel Kings book comes out, I just know I'm in for an emotional rollercoaster that is going to destroy me. And the love I have for these books never quits. I could not believe we were left on such an epic cliffhanger in the last book, and waiting for this one was absolute agony, even though I knew it couldn't be long before everything was okay again. But even solving Locke's kidnapping and tying up those loose ends didn't end the book. (Orla is every bit the mother fucking queen, Holy shit, I didn't think I could love her any more than I already did but I was so wrong.) Through every turn of this book and the dramatic events Locke, Orla and Nash had to deal with, their relationship only grew, and my love for them grew alongside. And the bonus content in this book, particularly Rubi's sections, were just such a nice addition. I really love the special editions of these books and getting to see other perspectives from other characters. It really deepens the connection the reader has with every character in this series, and I just will never stop raving about how much I love these books.

I did very much like the tension in the first 40% and towards the end of the book - Garrett Leigh writes intense scenes very well! But I couldn't shake the feeling that the story overall was choppy and every pov-switch felt disjointed (at least for the first 60% or so). For me, it was partly helped by more characters coming into play in the latter half of the book, while the first half was much more focused solely on the main trio. And that's a bit sad, that I didn't care enough about them to be happy with limited interactions with characters I already loved from previous books.

I’m so utterly obsessed with the Rebel Kings MC’s. I have never loved morally grey men more! And honestly, each story gets better and better.

But oh my god, Nash, Locke and Orla were incredible. All three are fierce in their own right, and I love the lengths they’ll go to for each other, for their love, and for their family.  And it was great to see them shine rather than being side characters.

Just as they find their way to each other, they are put through the wringer. And trust me, so is the reader. Damn it, Locke…heartbreaking.

What I love is that we get to see the ups and downs of all the couples, but there is never any worry about the depth of their love. But wow, I’m still reeling from it all.

I enjoyed this book as I love Orla, Locke and Nash together, but there was something about the pacing and plot that wasn't perfect for me. I felt like the story lost momentum being split into two books, and that some of the drama that happened in this one was added in to pad out the length (i.e. the motorway accident). I still enjoyed the drama, don't get me wrong, but some of it felt a little disjointed as the plot from their first book was wrapped up within the first half of this book. So anything that came in the second half was interesting, but felt more like a bonus story than part of the main story.

I also was hoping for a little more from the ending - Locke realises Orla is pregnant in the last chapter but she and Nash don't, and we get left on a bit of a cliffhanger of what's going to happen next. She has endo and we learn a lot about her fertility issues and past miscarriages throughout their books so we know there is a high possibility this pregnancy won't work out, despite all three wanting kids together. Locke's internal thoughts about this pregnancy weren't easy for me to understand - I wasn't sure if he thought she was guaranteed to miscarry again, or if he knew this one would succeed? I thought we'd get an answer in the bonus epilogue in the author's newsletter, but that was a bonus scene from earlier in the book. I'm guessing we'll know what happened when book 7 gets published?
