I found this at the Read Me Romance podcast and listened to it. First off I LOVE Erin Mallon as a narrator. I have listened to her narrate Kristen Ashley books, Lauren Blakely and many others. This being a short story really caught us up to the issues quickly to get the story moving. Throwing produce is a great attention getter. I would love to know more about the people keeping them apart but it was super sweet and had lots of 'ideal man' actions, paying for groceries, ordering all sorts of food not knowing a preference, taking the baby when you need two free hands, etc. I can get past the incorrect or weird medical stuff because it's not the focus of the story. I was slightly concerned about how seemingly depressed Kate was considering it was so many months after the baby and Jack's defection. If you want to read a short story that is full of happy and a little bit of funny, this would be perfect!

Possible spoilers. Listened to on Read me Romance podcast.

I really liked the idea of this story, and I like the authors style. The characters are interesting, though I'd have lived more with May There were a few things that didn't grab my fancy and pulled me out of the story. I'm not a mom, but I've been around enough children to recognize the issues with the way Anna, a 3 month old baby, was written. Things like her recognizing the word dad, or trying to eat grapes, but especially Jack tossing her up in the air. The baby was written as a toddler rather than an infant. I was a little disappointed by how quickly Kate and Jack end up back together but it's a short romance so that's just me and not a problem with the story.
The thing that pulled me out of the story the most though was the way the narrator extended some words. I know I shouldn't hold this against the story but it just sounded strange.

My top thoughts:

I had a lot of fun with Bombshell. I understood immediately why they all raved about Jen Frederick. The opening scene was so funny, with a food fight in a grocery store. I love the relationship between the heroine and her best friend as well. Even in such a short book, you pick up that they have that kind of friendship where they would do anything for each other. And OMG I love all the Harry Potter references in the book!

My one complaint... this book is unrealistic as hell. And some of it, I have no trouble dismissing. But I got really caught up - to the point of distraction from the story - with the age of the baby. In some moments, I felt like the story was suggesting the baby was about 6 months old at least, based one what what happening. At other points, it felt like the suggestion was that it was practically a new born. It bugged me, a lot.

Who I think would like it:

If you like second chance romances, sexy scenes, and a good amount of humor, this is a fun story for you.

Narrator thoughts:

I really enjoyed the narrator for this story, Erin Mallon. I thought she did a great job with the voices and I had no trouble following along with my 2x pace.

I initially didn't think I would like this books since Kate's name isn't given right away which annoyed me. Then there a few other things that bothered me but in the end I really enjoyed the story after it started to unfold in day 2-5.

I disliked this story. I found it extremely unsatisfying. I know it's short, but I didn't like how we didn't get to see how the couple met. I thought it was dumb that they had unprotected sex after their separation with no discussion. And most of all it's bullshit that we don't get an explanation for why she was treated so crappily during separation.

The Narrator for this Read Me Romance podcast was absolute TRASH. Her tone, inflection, pitch and overall style was super annoying.

I love Jen Frederick and her stories and this was no different. I loved how sweet and fresh the story was! There was a great twist and it just added even more to the hero reaffirming himself in Kate's life after stumbling back in.

description Apart from the Einsteinish three-month-old baby, the complete lack of medical knowledge, holes in the plot you could drive three semi trucks side by side through, and the abrupt ending with no epilogue, this book was cute!
