This book was certainly worth the hype. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow is such a beautiful book. It covers such a wide range of themes and topics that I’m honestly not even sure what to say. The characters all felt incredibly real and Gabrielle Zevin did such a fantastic job delivering the complexities of their relationships with one another. I would recommend this book to people who love games, people who feel their ambitions are outrunning them, and people who love their friends.

As a non/very casual gamer, I’m surprised to experience a book ALL ABOUT video games to intrigue and move me this much. I loved the characters and I loved the book’s coming-of-age-ness. Sadie, Sam, and Marx’s story has made me think a lot about friendship, collaboration, and the indescribable love you can feel towards a person you work with or can be called a teammate. Life demands you go through it with a teammate, a partner, a lifelong friend who knows you inside and out and loves you in the good and bad. Please read this book! Will be thinking about it for weeks. 🥹

This book, while *slightly* pretentious, was really interesting! I loved exploring the complexities of Sam and Sadie’s relationship, and the world of games.
My favourite section is, controversially, The NPC. I loved the second-person POV, even though the content was heartbreaking.

The book was extremely well written, and I loved the thoughtful treatment of disability. The exploration of what it's like to be a woman in a male dominated field and the compromises that one might make was very thoughtful. I..... just didn't enjoy the read very much. Vague spoilers ahead
Much of the plot felt a little like what I think of as "trauma porn". LIke, how much can we put these characters through, for no real reason? And I find relationships that have a lot of misunderstandings and grudges resulting in years long separations to be painful to read about.
