This series I have read quite a lot but its only the second time I've read the last one which I barely remembered as I started reading it. But the ending still stuck with me. The ending, for me, ruined such an amazing series... I understand it more that I've read it again but I don't think it was necessary. It would have been great it Dru could have gotten a happy ending. Her whole family were dead... and everyone left her behind... So you'd think Graves would stay and wouldn't leave but no. Graves had to go and have some personal time. Like, really? I'm frustrated. Again. The series is up there on my list with Harry Potter but the ending just drops to a Twilight standard. But, I do looooovvve it and won't ever stop reading it. My favourite books from the series are Strange Angels and Defiance (I love the action) ☺

I actually thought this was a really good book, the series started really well, maybe lagged a bit in the middle but the last book... just wow. The quotes I could pull of from in here, no in this whole series, were amazing. I don't know, I'm just kinda lost, I had been waiting for this book for ages and now that I have finished it, finished the series. I want more. I love all the character, Dru, Graves and especially Christophe, I just want to read this book again cause I can't believe it's finished...

"No Rating" because I don't have the heart to give this book a 2. :(

I've read a long list of too many series/trilogies to know what a good closing should feel like. Find some resolution in your love triangle, take for example Cassandra Clare's Clockwork Princess Epilogue aka tear fest, to know what I mean. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to feel solid. Loose ends tied, some fluttery wonder for the saps that like to bask in the imagination. Something to leave your readers like they never want the series to end, but after many sequels after, please, "just let it go" type of thing.

Goddamn it, why couldn't I have had that here?!

I just don't know what to make of it. It was a mess. Is there a book missing? Please tell me I missed the memo and maybe they forgot to print out a book that I DIDNT READ.

I just don't understand and can't comprehend how someone can leave everything so unraveled. There's no canon to this series. It's up the reader to finish, cool, I get that. All readers are happy with whatever pairing they choose, but umm what about addressing the Maharaj situation? What about closing other character's story lines? *cough* ASH?! *cough*

Give me some finale! I want to know what happened to the rest of the finale!!

*proceeds to cry self into desperation*

P.S. I can't even properly review this entire book because that ending had me going apeshit. I was done. And that's because I actually liked this series as a whole because it was light, action packed, and entertaining. But goddamnit that ending no, why? I'm done. JESUS.

Everything was amazing! There was action, Dru and Graves finally had a heart to heart, and there was some insight on Christophe's personality and past.
**Spoilers**
My only complaint was that the ending felt like this wasn't the final novel but more like just another installment. Dru never really came to a final decision on which guy she wanted although I guess in a sense she did pick one. There just could have been so much more!

Sigh. Just had to do that to us, did you Ms St. Crow? I have the plot-angel and plot-devil sitting on my shoulder whispering in my ear.

"She wimped out at the end, there's no resolution, it's just a repeat of the ending of all the other books!" says Plot-devil.

"You misunderstand. Truth resists simplicity (plot-angel is a nerdfighter). Any other ending would have betrayed terror and pain and struggle these characters have undergone," replies Plot-angel.

So yeah, I'm as conflicted about the ending as many others, but you have to admit that the end of Reckoning does, indeed, tie up loose ends. Sergej is taken care of. The "l" word has been said. Both boys have put their lives on the line for Dru in very explicit ways. And Dru has bloomed. She's seriously kick-ass now; with her svetocha powers coupled with "the touch."

(and even the touch is given an explanation, so no more accusations of too many loose ends, please.)

I found some of Dru's agonizing somewhat repetitive about midway through the book, and the constant reference to flexing and flushing of both "the touch" and "the aspect" wore on me a bit. However, the rest of what makes the Strange Angels series so addictive is here in this book, as well: non-stop action, half-vampire angst, Goth boy angst, and Dru trying to overcome her inner, abandoned-child demons.

Worth a read, even if you are upset about the ending.

This Book's Snack Rating: Sour cream and onion Kettle chips for the intense crunch of the characterization coupled with the slightly sour bite of the ending

I am disappointed in the ending, many unanswered questions, but it was action packed, sweet, and Dru is one kick ass chick.

It gets 4 stars cause I wanted her to get with Chris but no Dru just can't manage to do what I want her to do instead she's gotta be all 'I need time' ugh
