I enjoyed the first half of this book more than the second half - the tension, forbidden workplace/boss’s daughter romance, the “whiplash” of Easton being hot and cold to Henley (and I loved that she called him on it everytime). I also liked that he stuck up for her academic and professional achievements to her misogynistic father and partners. The second half just kinda was meh for me - so much pickleball and water rafting and panic attacks. I do appreciate a man in therapy tho!

I can’t imagine being in Easton’s shoes. Even with all his tools his struggle is so heartbreaking. I do love that he doesn’t go it alone and asks for help.

I found Laura’s books last year when i got back into reading again and I’ve every book so far and this book definitely didn’t disappoint. This follows Easton who were introduced to during his sister Emmy’s book and Henley who is Easton’s bosses daughter.
Easton is a big hot shot attorney and has been instructed to teach Henley and show her the ropes so of course it’s going to be a forbidden romance. And with any good office romance there is the grumpy sunshine aspect and this one hits those markers.
I love how Easton feels so protective of her especially when they start getting closer and she becomes someone important to him.
Definitely recommend giving this story a listen — it is AMAZING on audio Conor Crais and Andi Arndt brought this story to life
