This book was a nice distraction from heavier and darker things going on during this pandemic, so for that alone it gets 3 stars.

The writing style could have been set up a little better. She didnt separate the narratives into separate chapters so It got really confusing. Also her writing is not as sophisticated as I typically enjoy but whatever.

Jools is set up to be the villian but I liked her fron the beginning. Emma the main protagonist, I found annoying. I agree with fellow reviews that she is lazy and vulgar. Seriously who swears that much in front of your kids?

I wish they actually read books and referenced them in the story.

The ending was sweet...few tears actually. The message is a really good one. Be kind to all you meet because you do not know their full story. Learn to let go and forgive. Do what makes YOU happy, you cannot live your lives for others.

This was such an enjoyable read! I really liked the interaction between the mums & how the drama in each of their lives impacted that. There were some really funny moments & some quite emotional ones.

Well there is certainly more to this book than meets the eye. The title makes you think it centres on a book club however this book is about so much more than that. I am a mother myself and related to this story on a certain level but I also think that even if you aren’t a mother you will enjoy this book.

Meeting Emma, Maggie, Jools, Beth and Hanan was an absolute joy and although I was slightly confused in the beginning as we meet so many different mothers and their families just in the first few chapters, I soon got used to each character. I found myself laughing out loud at certain events (naughty Buddy the dog!) but then Keris also takes you to a much more serious storyline with Jools that I am sure other people will also relate to. I won’t go into specific events as I highly recommend you read the book for yourself! 😊

I flew through this book in three days and that’s with loads of other stuff thrown my way. I found Keris’s writing captivating and made me feel like part of the gang. Being part of The Bad Mother’s Bookclub sounds so fun! Keris also has a way of giving each of the main characters their own storyline but then seamlessly integrates them together when needed.

‘The Bad Mother’s Book Club’ is about friendship, sticking together and supporting each other and not to judge each other straight away.

It doesn’t matter how you parent there is no right or wrong way to do that and this book has certainly cemented that more into my brain ❤️ I give ‘The Bad Mother’s Book Club’ 5*/5* 😊

Thank you so much to Phoebe at Trapeze Books for an advanced copy of this book.

im not the target audience for this book. I thought it would be a little bit more like "the Jane Austen book club" but really it was a bunch of school mums being horrible to each other and using being a parent and exhausted as reasons for poor behaviour. drama drama so much fucking drama. i actually hated this book! i dont say that often but I should have DNF'd it.

This was a fun, light read about so much more than a book club. It is a testament on female friendships and how quick we are to judge other women.
