I got unexpectedly emotional when finishing this book. I started this series almost two years ago, and finally completing it felt… sentimental! And although I do feel accomplished at completing a 9 book series, that’s not the cause of my emotions. I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Emily and her ragtag group of friends and family.
Kazu Kibuishi’s artwork is some of the best I’ve seen in any graphic novel. His illustrations are stunning, and he’s created such fun and unique characters throughout the series. In hindsight, I wish I had read the books closer together because the long gaps left me confused about certain parts of the story.
Looking at this book on its own (rather than the series as a whole), there were a few things I didn’t love. Some new characters were introduced, but their roles and significance weren’t clear to me. I also would have liked a more in-depth wrap-up for some of the major groups of characters we met along the way.
That said, I really appreciated the deeper exploration of Ikol and his motives. But I still have questions—where is he now? What actually happened to him and his masters?
On a lighter note, I absolutely loved Cora and Cala. And Bren’s giant form? Adorable! (Iykyk ☺️)
Overall, while the ending left me with some lingering questions, this was a beautiful and emotional conclusion to a series I’ll always cherish.

Overall Series Review //
I read this entire graphic novel series within a month, and I loved the entire journey! The series arc was delightful to follow, with the characters learning and growing in each volume, learning more and dealing with wider implications.
The art style was also really beautiful, and I found it very clear as to the order to read the various story panels in, and I didn't get confused.
Highly recommend this series!
Specific Volume Review //
This was a delightful conclusion to the Amulet series, and I loved that even though it's a conclusion, it leaves some things open for interpretation. We're given enough clues to see how things will go beyond the end of the story, but we aren't explicitly told everything. Fabulous ending!

Very drawn out series makes it hard to care anymore, but I still really like kibuishi's art.
Amid a busy schedule and little motivation, I took a gentleman's intermission from the two novels I have on the go to read the final book of the Amulet series. The conclusion we've waited years to get our hands on! Amulet is a great series with fantastic art (and much smarter writing than one of the novels I'm reading atm, ugh). This was a great book and a nice way to end the series. I did expect one more twist or a final betrayal that I didn't get, but I'm fine with that. Happy that my series is complete. Will be re-reading next with my 9 year-old :)
This is such an amazing series. It was just coming out when I read it for the first time back in elementary school, and I was so excited to get to return to it this month. The author is Japanese American, and there are references to a culture that I’m getting to know, which was incredibly exciting. The spreads of these books are so beautiful. The story is surprisingly so deep and immense, I loved loved loved it. I can’t wait to check in in another ten years and see if he hasn’t written a second series (or even more?). All around 1000/10 <3
