This book was entertaining and it kept my interest throughout, but it wasn't a big wow thriller. I enjoyed the perspective of the main character; and her perspective was very interesting. I like that the main character was extremely flawed, and that she was an individual that was impaired mentally and morally. Though this book was entertaining it was lacking in some parts. The middle of the book felt very slow and dragged on and on. I find that stories about people that are obsessed tend to drag. The character was often too repetitive and I felt as if I was waiting for the main action to occur. What made this story not a hit for me was the ending. It was all over the place and I just couldn't make myself love it. The ending was packed with things that could have occurred in earlier chapters. Overall it was a good. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is supposed to be in the vein of the show You and others based on stalking but I really find this genre unrelatable. The main character is unlikeable and I found myself being sad for her. Her only redeeming quality was her attention to detail. I was rooting against her in all the things that happened to her.

The book focused on how she was stalking Forest, so he ending really didn’t make sense and came out of nowhere. Cannot recommend this one.

This was *increasingly creepy* throughout, and a quick read for me. I felt like the story was a little more convoluted than necessary - a couple of the subplots could’ve easily been cut with the same big conclusion and it would’ve been more impactful. Like a lot of twisty books, there are a lot of red herrings that ultimately don’t add a lot but aren’t terrible either. Like not love!

After reading consecutive stinkers from two of my favorite writers (Charles Willeford and Stephen King), it was refreshing to dive into this entertaining thriller from a new name.

I was searching for something corporate-y at the bookstore the other day and I came upon this one randomly after finding the authors name on a list of financial thrillers. This book wasn’t on said list but it was the only one available and I enjoyed it immensely and will read her other one.

If I think about this one too long, it won’t make much sense: lawyer gets hired as a temp agency, starts stalking one of the partners, but she also as a questionable background that slowly comes out. There are large gaps in it but Lindsay Cameron, a first time writer, keeps the story’s momentum going in a way that didn’t feel cheap. She builds the tension gradually enough, allowing me to gawk at the stupidity of the main character while also feeling empathy for her situation. Ending was predictable but what’s new? The journey was fun as is.

I was hoping more The Firm and less You. It definitely resembles the latter over the former. But it’s still a good mix of domestic suspense and corporate thriller. I’ll get Cameron’s other book soon and I hope she writes more. She’s definitely got talent.

Talk about a one-sitting read. I had the hardest time putting this book down for any reason. It was captivating right from the start.

Now I will say these kinds of thrillers are quickly becoming my favorite kind. Our main character isn't the girl next door, in fact, she is the one to watch out for. I can see why Just One Look gets compared to "You" but Cassie is no Joe. She is a much more tamed version of Joe, so I don't see the comparison all that much. Cassie has her issues, of course, but she has been through a lot. We slowly get to watch her become more unhinged as her obsession with Forest grows. Dalton was a very interesting character, and I really liked his blossoming friendship with Cassie. Their little dinner talks were some of my favorite parts.

The big plot twist, I did see coming. But I don't think that is a bad thing. I was too engrossed in the story that I didn't care that I guessed it 10 chapters ago. Now for obvious reasons, I cannot explain any more than that. It's a great twist to a wonderful story.

Thanks to the wonderful publishers for letting me read this one early. I look forward to more books written by Lindsay Cameron. Definitely give this one a go.

Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron should make everyone think twice about what they post and put online and into the internet world.
Cassie is a lawyer, fallen from grace. She finds herself in a meaningless temp job to make ends meet. As she is going through her job load and correspondences, she becomes infatuated with the authors of the emails. Forest and Annabelle are the perfect couple, on the outside at least. Cassie becomes so involved in her infatuation, she begins showing up at familiar places where Forest and Annabelle may show up. And finally, she meets Forest, the man of her dreams. He isn't wearing his wedding ring!! Forest and Cassie begin to meet for drinks and the relationship evolves.
Her newest friend at the temp job suddenly stops coming to work. Where did Dalton go?
Mysterious things start to happen and leads back to one place.......the email correspondences Cassie was working on. Cassie has to put the mystery together and she isn't sure she is going to like what she finds.
Just One Look by Lindsay Cameron begins with a bang, fizzles out in the middle, and grabs you again in the end. It also makes me think about all the stuff people innocently put online, thinking no one is paying attention. People are!! I will be looking for other works by Cameron and will recommend Just One Look to friends and family.
Special thanks to NetGalley, Lindsay Cameron, and Ballantine -Random House Publishing for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest opinion. 4 stars for me.

Just One Look is a stalker thriller from author, Lindsay Cameran, and will be out 7/27.

One of the things I loved about this one is that it was dripping with sarcasm and quick wit—it was a nice touch and right up my alley!

But…it fell a bit short for me otherwise. It wasn’t bad…maybe middle of the road?

It kicked off pretty slowly, with a bit of suspense that kept me intrigued, but I don’t think it quite lived up to its potential. There really weren’t any like-able characters and the plot just felt…off, especially the ending. I really loved the synopsis and cover for this one and had high hopes, but for some reason it didn’t click for me.

That said, the writing itself was great, and I’m sure others will really enjoy this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the gifted eARC.

First off, thank you to NetGalley and Random House for an Advanced E-Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions remain my own and are not influenced by this.

It has been a really really long time since I have read a thriller that successfully caught me off guard. Lindsay Cameron was able to actually shock me with a plot twist that I did not see coming and after having read about a million mystery/thriller novels in my lifetime, I didn't think that was still possible.

I went into this thinking I was going to get the female version of Joe Goldberg, and while I can see where there are some DEFINITE similarities between Cassie and Joe, this was definitely still it's own story and did not feel like it was just that. Cassie has her own issues, mostly stemming from abandonment and she is definitely a bit on the crazy side, but I sure did feel for her in the end. I might have even managed to get some secondhand anxiety while reading this.

Overall, this thriller surprised me! I enjoyed it a bit more than I expected to.
