It's after reading these enormous "canons" of the craft that I always think of giving these books up. There is just too much plot and years of continuity being forced into this story, and not enough legitimate reason to care. Other than the, "well, you won't know what's going on in the Marvel Universe afterwards." Which is a pretty lame reason to ever read something.

Totally into it. There were a couple of names I had to look up, but one hand on the book and one hand on wikipedia is how we drive these days, so that's fine.
Overall it's more about what happens before and after than it is about a clash between good and evil, and disparate forces uniting against common enemies.
I guess the only ding is that this is a huge story with hundreds of threads and you only get so much time with each one. Like, Colossus? He only appears in 3 panels and it's this sweeping, heartbreaking thing in some ways. Plenty of stuff to unpack for days afterward here.
I'm a little confused about what comes next in the time line. Decimation? Son of M? Something else? Here wikipedia is failing me.

This is on the higher end of Marvel events I’ve read. It’s written by Bendis and his style of writing really does it for me, it’s paced exactly like a Bendis book too. But it really works here.
It follows Wolverine for a large portion, but also has a dos if the ol’ Webhead which I was a big fan of.
And reading comics at the current point of continuity this event is still referenced and brought up. So it’s one of those events that really shifted thing.
The art is good and consistent, the writing is character focused and well done. I liked it a lot though I didn’t love it because I’m confused as to why Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are as they are in the story. I get it, but the choice to have them be the “bad guys” confuses me.
4 stars.

Semplicemente WOW!

I usually don't read a ton of comics, but with WandaVision premiering I felt like I should read (what I think is) the source material for the show.
This really cements how powerful Scarlet Witch truly is. It starts with her living out her own fantasy of giving birth to twins with her husband Vision. Xavier shuts that down quickly, and we see that she's using her reality warping powers to give herself something she wasn't able to have before.
More than anything, this is about dealing with loss and extreme guilt. She lost her children, husband, and many of her friends previously to this storyline. To make up for all the things she did, she decides to give everyone their 'wishes' (Magneto becomes a powerful leader. Peter marries a revived Gwen. And Wanda herself seems to be human).
For some reason or another, Wolverine can remember his entire life and works to find a way 'out' of the world that is wrong. He gets help from a mutant named Layla Miller, whose powers aren't fully defined other than giving everyone their memories back.
One exciting twist
I haven't read the follow ups or the aftermath of Scarlet Witch's reality warping powers. But its definitely something I'm really excited about.

Spoiler
It wasn't Magneto's idea like everyone thought. It was Quicksilvers's, because he needed to save his twin sister. Magneto's pissed about him and kills him. This makes Scarlet Witch LOSE it and causes the famous "No More Mutants" line.I haven't read the follow ups or the aftermath of Scarlet Witch's reality warping powers. But its definitely something I'm really excited about.

Written by comics legend Brian Michael Bendis, House of M is about what happens when Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff) has a mental breakdown and attempts to recreate the universe. You see, she’s lost her two children—Billy and Tommy—as well as her grip on reality. The other Avengers and X-Men (in the comics, Wanda is a mutant) realize they must consider killing Wanda, because her reality-shaping powers pose an enormous threat to humanity if she cannot recover her sanity. Does her brother or father have anything to do with the warping of reality? What happens to the powers held by mutants upon the earth?
Read this to find out.
It will be interesting to see if WandaVision incorporates elements into the new MCU series. It certain seems like Wanda might have lost her grip on reality after the events of the previous MCU movie, where she kills Vision.
