This book was a nice surprise. I love that is written from the male POV, makes a nice change.
Unlike a lot of reviews I really liked this book, it was different from most of Jodi's other books, there was a mystery about it, I knew there would be a twist somewhere but just didn't see that coming, usually, I can have the book figured out halfway through but not this one, so well done Jodi!
this is Ty and Lainey's story, both are broken, both by previous marriages. Ty is a player, loves them and leaves them, makes it clear from the start with women that he isn't after a relationship, that is until his Partner Sal hires a new PA without consulting him, and enter Lainey, beautiful and sexy, and Ty wants her!
With dating members of staff a no-no, Ty and Lainey have to secretly have a relationship, but Ty knows that she is hiding something, but doesn't know what. They have their ups and downs but you can feel the chemistry is there and both are falling in love but won't admit it.
their story is page-turning and Perfect Chaos.

It's my first time reading this author, Jodi Ellen Malpas. Her writing is good and the way she gets involved in the character's feelings is awesome.
I don't criticize the novel bc it's good and has quite a few situations that kept me glued to it. But, I'm sorry to say I couldn't connect with any of the characters. It's true that Lainey and Tyler are amazing characters, but I didn't find anything in common with them.
I repeat, I do not blame the book because in itself, it is not a bad book.

❁ The book
✧The plot: It's simple from start to finish; the typical story of the womanizer guy who, when he meets a girl, decides to change and feels the biggest arrow in his life.
✦Is there drama?: In the end, just a little... to spice up the story lol

raw, realistic and emotional.
You know what I love about Jodi’s books? She keeps them real. Her characters are flawed and they mess up monumentally when scared or angry, hurt or heartbroken. I completely respect that, her stories aren’t cheesy Disney fairytales, they’re raw, realistic and emotional. The ups and downs of the relationships in her books are things people all over the world have experienced. No relationship is perfect, I truly believe there is no such thing. Every single couple faces their own struggles. And fair enough, not every couple out there faces the struggles that the characters in jodi’s books do. But they do happen.
Perfect chaos absolutely blew my mind. I literally couldn’t put the book down and that awkwardly lead to me literally falling flat on my face! Okay, so I can’t put the blame on the book, I’m a bit dopey and clumsy so I should have known better than to wonder about whilst reading, but I was just so obsessed with this story. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.
The story is told entirely through the perspective of Ty Christianson. That’s right, the entire book is told from a male characters perspective, and I absolutely loved getting inside his head.
Ty is an absolute player. The kind of guy who has a different woman in his bed every night of the week, he doesn’t do relationships or commitment, and he has his reasons. When his best friend and business partner hires a new PA without consulting Ty, the world as he knows it is up ended. One of his biggest and most important rules is that he never sleeps with or gets involved with anyone who works for his company…
Enter Lainey summers.
It’s instant attraction for Ty when he meets Lainey, her smile alone is enough to knock him on his ass. Never mind the electricity he can feel between them or the fact he can’t seem to get her off his mind no matter how hard he tries. And oh boy does he try.
Lainey seems to have an easier time ignoring the attraction between herself and Ty, and she’s not looking for anything anyway. She doesn’t trust men, and ty is everything she hates about the opposite sex. She has her reasons. And she has her secrets.
When the attraction between the two of them becomes too much and they finally give in to it, the fall out is like nothing I’ve seen before.
I definitely recommend this book, especially to fans of Jodi’s One Night trilogy because honestly I got some one night vibes from this book, except it was Lainey giving off major Miller Hart vibes not ty! And we all know I’m always going to have a soft spot for Miller Hart as he is the first of Jodi’s alpha’s I ever discovered! Reading the book really took me back to how I felt when I first discovered JEM’s books.
I know this book is a standalone but let it be known if Jodi ever decides to revisit Ty and Lainey, I’ll be one of the first in line to read it! There is definitely potential for another book here.

fast-paced
Being a huge fan of The Man, I wasnt sure what to expect but I was excited to read another book by her.
The story is a single POV from Ty Christianson who is a rich successful man whore. He has no trouble finding a woman to help keep his bed warm at night. He owns a business with his close friend Sal who has been struggling to balance his home and work life so he hires a new personal assitant. Incomes Lainey. Lainey is beautiful, and catches Ty's eye immediately. But there's a basic rule: employees are off limits. Ty has always stuck to this, never getting involved with an employee.
They both try to fight the attraction and the immediate deep connection they feel for one another however they give in.
The story is well written but I cannot tell if I liked it. The beginning of their relationship was bumpy and I almost found it annoying, I struggled to be invested. As the story developed, I enjoyed it a little more BUT then Lainey's secret comes out and I just dont like her. It. Lainey;s past has made her a revengful, almost petty woman so she becomes a honeytrap. This means she gets paid to catch men cheating.
Ty finds out, explodes because he just doesnt understand and married woman have always been a no no for himself in his manwhore-ih ways. He eventually forgives her nad they get a happy ending.
Did I enjoy it? I guess so... Will I read it again? No.

I like a story that is different and doesn’t conform with trends and hallelujah Perfect Chaos ticks those boxes. I like the angle taken; both characters will raise eyebrows, both unlikeable at times and the story is sprinkled with a couple of wtf moments.
This isn’t fluffy romance, this is gritty and in your face. Being told entirely in Ty’s point of view, Lainey was a mystery that was unwrapped layer by layer throughout the story. The suspense built and the bombs exploded in just the right places to have me in a frenzy and keep me turning those pages.
A totally different reading journey than I normally experience when reading Ms Malpas and I applaud her for having the balls to offer her readers a story that is thought provoking and different from her previous books.
